”Great stay at Gardenvilla. The staff was extraordinary, breakfast was amazing and the location was stunning!”

”Hinodeya ryokan was a warmhearted place. I believe that it is kept by mother and her son. I struggled to speak some japanese and they struggled to speak some english, but we got along quite well. The room was a tradional ryokan-style room. You get to wear a fancy yukata! They had a nice ofuro room and good breakfast. You even get to make your own omelette! I could definately return to this hotel.”

”It's briefly mentioned that the hotel provides a shuttle service, and it worked out to be really useful. They had a regular schedule running between the izukyu-shimoda JR station and the shuttle. We got a room with a balcony with a "partial sea view", which turned out to be a fantastic view to the bay! The breakfast at the in-house french restaurant, The Pheonix, was moderate, but the dinner in the Japanese restaurant was really good. The pool was nice, and had great views to offer from the...

”So the few things I did not like where the bed and pillows were very uncomfortable, the onsen water was hot enough to burn me (the rock onsen at the bottom) and the pool closed SOOOO early that we didn’t get to experience it at all. I paid a lot of money for that hotel and then didn’t even get to experience the pool. But the staff was very accommodating and made great efforts to speak English to us. ”

”Great, calming place. It was perfect for our part of the trip as we wanted to relax and be surrounded by beautiful nature. The staff was nice and went out of their way to be helpful. The majority of people who stayed here were older people and families, but I did not mind that at all. There are a lot of amenities and it was the small features that made me feel extra comfortable.
