”We bought our room almost 2 full months in advance to get one of the waterfront rooms; however, when we got there we got a room I had seen no previous pictures of on the listing, and was not waterfront. They said they were fully booked so it is what it is. They provided a shuttle to the ferry to get to Mackinac Island which was nice. Front desk manager offered lots of recommendations for food and activities. (Would NOT recommend Rusted Spoke, had a very disappointing experience there) No...

”The location was excellent. It’s right on the beach. the shuttle service to and from Sheppler was top-notch service. Housekeeping cleaned our rooms every day. The maintenance guy was beyond amazing. Make sure bonfires and s’mores every night. The breakfast was pretty decent as well. Only minor thing I would mention is the bathrooms were small and the toilets could use an upgrade. Otherwise, it was an excellent day and I would definitely recommend if you want to stay right on the beach.”

”Coffee Hut is a good option, instead of having individual coffee pots in each individual room. ”

”Beach was not cleaned. Grass was on the sand with rocks. Chairs were bad The water was full of rocks and could not walk into the water to swim. Also you could not play in the sand that was also full of rocks. The indoor pool wasn’t any better The covers for the filter were taken off, that left a big hole in the pool with screws sticking out where the filter should off been. Also the balcony was not even cleaned You had spiders and other bugs were all over the floor”

”Door to the pool was closed all day. Breakfast was boring. No coffee on the lobby. Stinky old hotel and staff was rude.”

”Location was great! Hotel is very dated…the room was clean, but the room and the hallways had a STRONG fragrance smell…almost like they were trying to cover up an odor. Probably would not stay there again”

”The manager got us into a cottage when we arrived, very nice man. Cottage right on the beach, very quaint and rustic. Definitely be back again.”

”Rooms were clean and decently kept. Beach front property was very nice, The room we had did not have AC which was not a huge issue as there were fans provided. The pool area could use some updating and cleaning but was a good distraction for the kids.”

”I liked that I had an option for ocean view with balcony. HOWEVER, they should let you know that you may get a ground floor with a balcony 🙄 so you know with people on the beach, there's no privacy. You have to keep drapes drawn so they can't see in your room. Also, the front desk lady was borderline rude. After she was done with her spew (so I thought), I asked where breakfast was located, and she was snippy and let me know she will " get to that in a minute", I personally wouldn't stay there...

”Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Indoor water park is geared towards smaller younger children. Outdoor pool was nice. The lodge portion of the hotel needs major renovations to the bathrooms as there was mold and wallpaper coming off the walls. The AC units need to be updated. Entry doors need to be reset as they dont seal completely even though they are new. Price was great but you do get what you pay for. Room part was clean and comfortable though for a overnight stay.”

”The balcony had moss growing on it and the hand rail to room 28 was coming off the wall. The trash can for the room was super small. We told the housekeeper that was broke and no one came to fix it. We stayed for two nights and no one came to fix clean the room. With all the sand from the beach made the floor all sandy. The pictures online of the place were deceiving and the place on the outside did not match. The tiles in the pool were coming off.”

”The rooms need a good deep clean. Dust and trash behind the dresser and under the tv stand. Refrigerator was not plugged in on arrival. Complimentary breakfast has a two hour window to eat. The rinse station to use after swimming is broken.”
