”I love staying at the Iowa House when I visit my son at Iowa State. It is very close to campus, definitely within walking distance. The rooms are always clean and cool. The dining room always has something to eat at all hours. Breakfast in the mornings are always good. I even got a text asking if I would be eating breakfast. The staff are great and very accommodating. When I go to Ames, this is the first place I look to stay.”

”Snowmobile trip with family and friends. Location was great. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast and pool were also great.”

”Beds and pillows were very comfortable with really soft sheets. I’m not sure about amenities- we didn’t have a chance to use the pool area due to maintenance. The staff never mentioned anything about a breakfast and we had to leave early so never checked to see if one was available. Only negative was having a room right by the elevator and ice machine which you could hear.”

”The kitchenette did not contain plates, silverware or glasses. I did enjoy the larger room size.”

”We saw no actual staff the whole stay. The breakfast was very minimal with some expired foods. ”

”The hotel was nice with a large refrigerator, dishwasher and sink. Nice space for guests to sit on couch. Only downfall was that we didn’t get maid service on our 2 night stay. We didnt have a tag up saying no room service annd when we came back later in the day, no one had cleaned the room. We did ask for when we got back but it but it was later in the day and they were already gone.”

”Room was clean. Beds very comfortable. Swimming pool area was a little scary. The bar to hold onto to get into the pool actually came off in the hand of my guest when they were going in the pool. When we told the clerk she said she was aware and would remind maintenance. No sign, no warning. The staff were extremely friendly except we had a problem checking out. I was told my card declined and I had to pay for the rooms. I had already paid through Expedia. But my card got charged again. When I...

”The breakfast staff was very friendly and always available to refill whatever needed to be filled. The room itself looked old and dingy, really used and abused, stained chairs, horrible pillows. We booked this particular hotel because we wanted to have the option to have an indoor pool. I called beforehand and asked about the condition of the pool and if if it was open. I was assured that it was. When we got to the Hotel and wanted to use the pool, we were told that the poolPool was closed...

”The room was really clean, a little cozy but nice. We were able to open the window and listen to the birds. We watched the sun set in the huge hot tub whirlpool. Great place to stay for a great price! Breakfast was good. Two different juices, coffee, milk and water. Bagels, biscuits and gravy, cereal and a waffle maker. Would definitely stay here again. ”Had something wrong between Expedia and the hotel regarding payment. Made me stand in front of counter for 30 minutes while hotel talked to Expedia to get it straightened out. Than took 10 minutes more to get my key card. Than they put me in room 216 which had ac units for hotel Right outside the window. Slept very poorly due to noice”

”We stay at country Inn and suites all over United States and this one was not up to the country Inn and suite standards that we are used to not as well maintain not as clean not as well staffed asked for handicapped room did not get one we were able to make it work, but it was not what we wanted We booked out well in advance like six weeks just saying we are a little disappointed in this one.”
