”The room I booked and paid for in December was not the room I received nor was it in the property. Dingy and outdated was my room as opposed to the pictured antique and charming room. At no time during my 4 night stay was my room freshened up. Great location, but there I would never stay there again.”

”This hotel was absolutely charming. I did not expect it to be so beautiful, cozy, and well maintained. Everything was spotless, and the staff was incredibly attentive. I especially appreciated that they called to let me know my room was ready before the official check-in time, which was a lovely touch. Unfortunately, the weather was too cold to enjoy the pool, but the hotel itself was peaceful, quiet, and very relaxing. Overall, it exceeded my expectations, and I would gladly stay here again.”

”The staff were so pleasant to talk to and since my wife and I were not able to climb stairs, we were upgraded to a first floor room. The breakfast served every day was so delicious and ready when we were. Everything we needed was taken care of by wonderful people. Also all the attractions are within walking distance since the hotel is located downtown. I highly recommend the Melville House and we will be staying there again.”

”I think it did the job but having to pay for valet parking and staying over Memorial Day Weekend pushed it to a price point it didnt really deserve. Location is perfect and the main reason to stay there. Staff was great and facilities are pretty good. We used the gym which was small, but had everything one usually needs. Rooms themselves are tiny (bathroom especially) and that’s coming from a New Yorker. TV was very dated (not a smart TV). If the price point was lower, I’d maybe give it a...

”The room was very clean and tastefully decorated. However, the staff at the reception were quite distant, whereas in a boutique hotel, a warmer and more welcoming attitude would be expected. As two female guests, perhaps because we stayed only one night, it felt strange to be given the room right by the entrance/office area.”

”This place was amazing, clean and welcoming. It’s closed to the beach. Lots of restaurants around. The check in was smooth. And they have amazing coffee and a bunch of snacks. DEFINITELY WORTH IT.”
