Mountain Time - Big Canoe GA

  • Mountain Time Lodge is a 4-bedroom, 3.5-bath luxury cottage located atop Laurel Ridge, near the Big Canoe Chapel, tennis courts, and a short distance from the Swim Club pool, beach, Fitness Center, and water slides. A five-minute drive takes you to the Big Canoe Golf Club and Black Bear Pub. This retreat features a hot tub, game room, Keurig coffee maker, and a ping pong table. Enjoy wonderful sunrises with the fantastic mountain view.

    Living Space
    The front door opens to a great room with a wood fireplace, flat-screen TV, and plenty of seating. The dining room seats eight people, and the fully furnished kitchen includes a microwave, oven, stove, large refrigerator, crockpot, regular coffee pot, blender, and mixer. The great room opens to a screened porch with EZ Breeze for winter comfort and a large back deck.

    Beds & Bathrooms
    The main floor master bedroom features a king bed, flat-screen TV, and a master bath with a large tub and shower combination with grab bars for safety. Upstairs has a queen bedroom, two twin beds in the loft, and a bathroom with a tub/shower combination. The terrace level includes a king bedroom, a queen bedroom, a Jack and Jill bathroom with a walk-in shower, and a rec room with a game table and flat-screen TV. A large screened porch with a hot tub and ping pong table is accessible from the terrace level.

Memorial Day Memories

This property was the perfect place to anchor our Big Canoe visit. It is convenient to everything, and was spacious enough to accomodate our little ones and extended family. It was clean and had everything that we needed.

Fantastic Friends Weekend

We took our daughter and her friends to Big Canoe to celebrate her Sweet 16th Birthday. We all enjoyed pickleball, tennis, Beach Club (food, beach, pool, rock slide, volleyball, paddle boards, paddle boats, obstacle course) - it was such a fun weekend! The house was perfect with plenty of room and activities (hot tub, shuffle board, ping pong, games, movies) - perfect weekend!

Weekend away

We enjoyed a weekend away with four couples and the cabin worked perfectly. We were able to cook, enjoy the hot tub and go hiking within the Big Canoe community. Very nice porch and view for coffee in the morning.

Terrific family vacation!

We enjoyed our stay in Big Canoe! We hiked, visited the dog parks, played bocce, and went to the driving range. The house is just as described: spacious and comfortable with an amazing view from the deck!

Beautiful Property and Location

We enjoyed our stay very much and would return again! The cottage is outfitted nicely. The property is lovely, the mountain views are fantastic and we enjoyed the hot tub! We really enjoyed our daily hikes with gorgeous waterfalls. Thank you for sharing!

Fun Ladies Weekend

All was good. Minor set backs that were disclosed to property manger and they were very responsive. I’d definitely stay here again! The house is beautiful and the view is amazing.

Exceptional

We were in Big Canoe for a family reunion. We had 5 families and 5 different homes for the week. Mountain Time for our needs beautifully. We have very small children and we found the Wildcat rec area to be our home away from home. The daily cost was 8 v. 20 at the Beach Club. We did enjoy the Beach Club one day and it was lovely. Lowe’s grocery was so convenient. We had everything we needed in Big Canoe for a great week with family.

We enjoyed our week at this house. There were a few minor issues but the owners were readily available to handle quickly. Great space for multiple family units.

Mountain Retreat

Perfectly located for easy access to amenities including the Swim Club, lake, rock slide, playground, racquet club. Short drive to Wildcat Recreation Area. Sufficient bedroom/bathroom space for 6 adults and 4 children. Loved that each "family" had their own floor. Lovely views from inside and out of mountains; sunrise from the back deck.

Big Canoe!

We love Big Canoe and this was our 2nd time staying at Sharp Top, it was still a good location despite not being able to use the beach/lake/amenities. We did however use the playground which was around the corner and did some trails nearby, rented a pontoon boat, and enjoyed Wildcat pool. The hot tub was a hit for the kids. We thank you Sharp Top for giving us another good family vacation.

Relaxing stay

Great location. Some visible wear and tear here and there. The clothes dryer did not work properly but we didn’t really need to use it. Someone from housekeeping came to help out and that was much appreciated. Very peaceful surroundings. Especially enjoyed the hiking trails and marina area!

The cabin was so cozy and cute and perfect for our needs as an overflow house as our family’s house in Big Canoe had so many guests this year! It was clean and had everything I needed and I really enjoyed coffee out on the deck. The only downside is that I suffer from severe allergies and upon arriving I broke out in head to toe hives and had hives almost every night of my stay ….I’d highly recommend the owners get rid of the shag carpet in the rental for people like me with allergies. The rental agents however were VERY responsive and kind with all my questions about what detergents and products had been used in the house prior to my arrival. No one is at fault here - but shag rug is a BEAST for anyone with allergies! Also - you can’t beat the location of this house… and the sunrises were LOVELY out on the porch.

Great Property- plenty of space

We had a wonderful stay at Mountain Time. The property was lovely- house had plenty of room for all of us and the place was stocked with everything we needed. Kids enjoyed a day swimming at the pool & lake. If you are worried about distance from a particular landmark- consider that there is an additional 10 mins travel time to enter/exit Big Canoe. Also- if using Jasper as the landmark- there is an additional 15 mins from Jasper as well. We didn’t realize until after booking that we had an additional 30mins travel time to get to our destinations (baseball tournament at LakePoint). Aside from this (which was my lack of planning) the house was wonderful and I would recommend it. It was as advertised. Lovely home- very comfortable, kids enjoyed the games that were in the rec room area.

Sharp Top

Loved the location and layout of the house. My kids loved the ping pong table and the hot tub. There were a few minor issues like a Paddle or two looked warped, master bedroom on main blinds wouldn't pull down and curtain rod kept falling down, also the upstairs shower doesn't have a switch/lever so it turns into a shower even though there is a shower head, also majority of mugs were chipped and some leaked from the bottom, maybe from previous renters. Other than that the place was great. My husband said it was his favorite house he has rented in Big Canoe. We all loved it. Would definitely stay again.

Great house/location but watch out for FEES!

The house was great for two families to enjoy a four day stay. Big Canoe has wonderful hiking trails and amenities as well. The house was very comfortable, well furnished and has everything you might need. The hot tub and ping pong table were a hit! The only issue we had was not receiving the check in procedures, but when I called the owner they were given by phone. We had no trouble getting into the home. I was shocked by the extra fees when booking this property, so look for that when you book on Home Away. I've booked several properties on HA and never had to pay a separate fee. Other things to consider- there is no trash pick up or can at the house. Per Big Canoe policy, you must drive your trash to the north gate which is about a 10/15 minute drive from the house. That was inconvenient, but not a huge deal. Also, if you plan to bring dogs (the house is great for pets), you should know that there is only a steep side yard at the top of the hill for them to go to the bathroom. Overall, great property and stay!
