”My two daughters and I normally stay in 5 star hotels when vacationing. This trip was a last minute getaway to Wisconsin Dells. I looked at different hotels in the area, but most of them were booked and/or slightly higher in cost for the dates we needed. Then I started looking at motels. There were many to choose from, but again we normally don't stay at motels. So, I am looking at all the reviews and one particular motel kept coming up with 4.8 to 5 star reviews. It was the Black Hawk Motel....

”We go to Wisconsin Dells every year and we’ve been at the All Star four times and they remember us as if we were family. We will return again to the All Star next year and next year and the next. We love the folks that run it ,friendly can’t beat it and you get a Noahs Ark wristband that you can use every day.”

”Jetted tub in the room was nice and worked great. Very convenient location to downtown Wisconsin Dells. Property could use some updates and maintenance. Breakfast had a few decent options like cereal, eggs, sausage, hash browns no bacon though😔. Overall was a decent stay.”

”Pool across the street was small, but nice and quiet. Bathrooms in the rooms are ridiculously small! Basically enough room to stand in them (the sink is outside the bathroom). Soap and shampoo dispensers were both empty. Waited 1 hour and 15 minutes for breakfast first morning. Second morning we knew to not even bother to try to get any. Getting coffee and Starbucks inside restaurant was also impossible on Saturday morning as workers were there and acknowledged us, but never came to wait...

Only 1 small area for older kids to play in the water and no big slides. The slides they did have were fun for maybe upto a small 8 year old. ”Nice stay. Very cheap nightly rate so I have a lot more money to spend out in town or on attractions. Exactly what I was looking for. Room had a nice functional AC and big beds. Shower and breakfast could have been better but I got exactly what I paid for. Close enough to downtown to walk nearly everywhere too.”

”We stayed here for 2 nights after walking out of the Super 8 by Wyndham (whole other review...but stay away). We were in one of the rooms in the hotel, not a treehouse, after finding out there was no bathroom or shower in the treehouses. They did have bath houses available but we weren't looking for the "camping" experience so we grabbed a room. Nothing fancy, but adequate for my wife and I and eleven year old grandson. Perfect as a base for everything the Dells has to offer. Friendly staff. And...

”I booked a king suite with jetted tub. Immediately upon entering the room the deep smell of cigarette use permeated the room. There were two chairs in the suite part of the room that were severely worn and old and large areas of stains on the carpeting. Walking into the bedroom section the cigarette use smell only worsened although there was an attempt to mask the smell with heavy air fresheners, to no effect. I had just driven 8 hours to the location and was very fatigued and tired and sat...

”We had a wonderful stay for our stop at Wisconsin dells for the day on our trip to Mount Rushmore. Lisa & Eric were wonderful hosts and made us feel at home. My 3 year old loved the whale slide (his first water slide). There was a graduation party going on annd was worried about the noise but didn’t even hear a peep. Excellent stay if on a budget and just need a nights rest.”
