”Nice place. Chose the dormitory, the bed does creak with every movement as it is made of wood. It was good for a one night stay for me, but if you are staying for 2 night or more, I recommend choosing the rooms instead. Lovely staff though, I was able to leave my luggage early in the morning before check in. ”

We stayed for one night, and when it was time to leave, we wished we had stayed longer. The ryokan is truly beautiful, and the staff is very attentive and friendly. ”We loved the staff and hospitality at Momijiya. My husband said it felt like we were staying at our grandma's house. We loved the ryokan experience as well. We really felt we were getting a more intimate Japanese experience. The food really put us Americans out of our comfort zone, but we wouldn't have wanted it any other way. ”One of the best hotels in Arashiyama. Spacious, modern rooms. Very friendly and helpful staffs. Special thanks to Ms Rinka. I lost my wallet while walking between a restaurant and the hotel, and Ms Rinka volunteered to take me to the police station and help me file the police report. Turns out someone had found the wallet and brought it to the police station, so I was able to retrieve my wallet and nothing was lost. ”Lovely, quiet ryokan. Beautifull small garden. Lot of young travellers. Cozy kind of youth hostel. With taxis and busses one can reach whatever place. Lovely personel, except the owner whose moods vary a lot depending on alcohol intake. In three nights the mouldproblem in specially naths started to produce healthinfluencies. No smoking-place and in that meaning very pleasant.”
