”This place is an oasis in the rain forest! Beautiful grounds and the staff and owner were the best! Water taxis and walking is how you get around. Ton's of wildlife and a great experience! I would call it "rustic elegance". Just one item that may bother others is there is no climate control in the rooms. That did not bother us since they all have ceiling fans, but it may be a consideration of some.”

”Lovely place. The staff was very attentive and bfast was really good! Great location just a few minutes walk to downtown and the national park. Lots of wildlife including howler monkeys. (The monkeys would start their noise around 4am so if you’re a light sleeper, bring ear plugs!) ”

”The place is ok, a little over rated in my opinion. One has to get out of the car to open gate to get into a small parking space. They woke me up early on Sunday morning to move my car, cause I was the last one in the parking space last night and someone wanted to leave, so I had to get up to move my car. They were very rude about it. So parking is an issue, as it was raining hard and had to get out to open and close gate also.”

”Rana Roja was absolutely amazing! The owner Herardo was super nice, hospital and helpful. This place was more than advertised. They had a small and cute pool with a small waterslide which was nice addition during the warm evening. The property had many interesting walking paths which kind of felt like being on a nature tour or a hike, very cool! The owner was very helpful in making our stay comfortable and gave us good tips for tours around the area. We ended up going to a turtle watching tour...

”Segunda vez que me hospedaba en ese hotel, la primera vez , hace 2 años fue perfecto ,debió de cambiar de gerencia porque la segunda fue un desastre: Problemas con la reserva, no pude hospedarme la primera noche, después de "negociar" para la siguiente noche, al llegar y pagar tardaron 3 horas en dar la vuelta de lo pagado en dolares, excusa: la falta de cambio, me devolvieron en colones dando un cambio muy inferior al cambio del día, tuve que protestar para que me lo "mejoraran algo"...

Lovely place & lovely couple who owns it and takes care of you, proposes activities, tells stories about the food, locations etc. Lovely breakfast available every morning, in adittion to the coffee available every morning, which they bring to your room. Lovely place with sloths, birds etc around the premises. Lovely location a bit out of town but close to a nice beach, a store and still only a few min drive from town.”

”The house is really comfortable and unique. There is a lot of wildlife nearby. We felt completely safe. Troy is a fantastic host - very concerned with our comfort and ensured we had everything we needed. I would love to stay there again - it was perfect!!!!”
