The staff at this hotel are wonderful! The area around the hotel is chaotic, but once you're at the hotel, it's a different world! Very clean, quiet, safe, upscale, modern, and beautiful. We were treated with the utmost kindness. The room was beautiful and they were kind enough to pack us a delicious breakfast since we had an early flight and couldn't eat breakfast there. We had a wonderful dinner upstairs at Chow Bella...the service and the food were exceptional! We were celebrating our anniversary, and they brought us chocolates and a beautiful cake, and decorated our room. We highly recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Kathmandu. We stayed here twice and loved it.

Hotel was outside city centre area. Food was very bad and restaurant staffs are very slow. Amenities are not also good. It is not 5 star. Wastage of money. Can get better hotel on same price .

Our stay at Akama Hotel was an unforgettable experience as we were met instantly with welcome drinks and all the staff welcoming us and informing us with all the timings and where everything was such as gym, meal times and pool times. We were then given the room key and as soon as we came in we were met with amazing cleanliness throughout the room with a great view of the city of Kathmandu. The food at Ciao Bella was top tier and our family very much enjoyed the meal there. Room service as well was great as there was not that much of a wait to receive your meals. You get a range of channels on the TV for your viewing and the channels are global. Also a special thank you to Krishna as he was very polite, his service was second-to-none and took meal requests from our family. He even packed us a breakfast meal as our flight was early the next morning. A truly wonderful experience, and I will not hesitate to come back here again when our family comes back to Nepal.

Very nice hotel, staffs are very helpful and friendly. Rooms are clean, spacious and gorgeous looking. We didn’t get better outside view from our room but depending on which side of the building you're staying, you can definitely get a room with beautiful view. But other than that we were satisfied with the services over all. Also the food from their restaurant is delicious.

The rooms were spacious and great all around. There were leakages under the sink that could destroy the wooden floor. Everything else was terrific; dinner was great, the staff was courteous, and I would stay there again.

I really enjoyed staying in this hotel. Staffs were respectful and rooms were really clean. The hotel is classy with top notch facilities but the area isn’t the best… The only problem is that if you have a visitor they can’t come to your room due to their policy. Would I stay here again? YES

The staff were very nice and helpful The location of the hotel is not good. There is a lot of construction around the hotel, so it is dusty and loud. It is not close to tourist places, but the staff will help you get a taxi. The pool had a lot of bugs in it and there is a charge is you want to use the steam sauna. The rooms were clean and the food was okay.

Happy to Stay Here Again
My husband and I spent 4 nights here. The staff was extremely helpful. Some particular standouts were Bandana at the front desk and Shubashana in the restaurant. We were comfortable with the accommodations and enjoyed several of the available ammenities. The pool was beautiful. Thank you for all of your help and for making this such a pleasant stay for us!

Excellent Stay
Our stay was really excellent. The room was quite nice and always kept clean. The staff was unfailingly helpful and always friendly, the health club and sauna were really good, and the food was very good as well. Overall I strongly recommend the Akama when staying in Kathmandu.

Luxury and respite at a reasonable rate
I had a wonderful stay at the Akama. From check-in to check-out the service was fantastic, in fact, beyond the extra mile. They even cared enough to watch out that cabs charged me reasonable rates. The common areas--lobby, coffee shop, restaurants--were closer to 5-star quality. It was wonderful to have views of the city and mountains from various points in the hotel. The traditional furnishings made the place more special than a typical business hotel. In fact, the hotel seemed well set up for events like weddings. My room was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was a bit tight, but I had an extremely good deal, and being little it was not too much of a problem. I would recommend asking for larger rooms for larger individuals or parties of 2. The one drawback is that the hotel is not as central as others, but its location just off the ring road makes it easy for even first time visitors to find when taking cabs. Highly recommend this hotel.

Amazing hotel
Amazing hospitality, very clean and delicious food in the hotel restaurant although expensive. Only small complaint is that I wasn’t able to access YouTube even though it was a smart tv. Will definitely be staying here again on my next trip.
