Matkat – Kawaihau

We stayed at the outrigger for 7 nights on our honeymoon. It was almost 2 months since the hurricane so some damage and operations outages were to be expected. I just wish we had a little heads up about what wasn’t working yet, like the outside pool bar and pool limitations, since I called a few weeks in advance to ask. We opted for one of the rooms upon booking that hasn’t been remodeled but our issues with cleanliness was mostly from lack of maid services. They promised at least limited service every other day and we only got one day of service during our whole stay. We had to ask for new towels on 3 occasions. I will say the best part about the outrigger is the staff! They were awesome and helped with every request and answered every question. It rained really hard on our last day and the whole staff was very attentive to the property! The location for the outrigger was fantastic for not having the rental car for a few days and being able to uber back to get one. Also, in the sense that we were able to enjoy all parts of the island throughout our week!
