Serenity.
My son and I very much enjoyed our stay. The cottage is very comfortable and clean. The location is just outside of Kenmare, up a winding road that is in very good condition. The directions to the cottage were easy to find, look for the blue bicycle! Marcus, the host, is a warm and caring fellow. The cottage is on his property, between his home and his artist studio, but extremely private with its own, separate driveway. The location is very peaceful with views of forest and the hills in the distance. I will stay there again, which is the highest compliment! Kim S. Seattle, WA

Epitome of an Ireland Stay
Hard to describe what an amazing place this was to stay at, and how much of an impact the property itself has had on our overall trip to Ireland. The location is perfect, with downtown Kenmare only a few minutes from the house. The surrounding area is so beautiful, it’s exactly what we had hoped for to get a real feel of what Ireland is all about. The host Markus was incredibly easy to talk with and so accommodating to us as well. The cottage had everything we could possibly need, but even more so, it had such a warm, peaceful vibe. It’s easy to see the owners have put a lot of effort and thought into making this a one of a kind, very special place. My girlfriend and I had romantic nights by the fire, a wonderful ambient kitchen to cook in, and a sauna to relax in after our daily ventures around the area! To top it off, the owners dog Jess (such a great dog), would come and visit often, much to our delight, to share some love, and help us with missing our beloved animal back home! The place was perfect, that’s not even a good enough adjective to describe it. It made the setting for my proposal so special to my now finance and me! We will be back any and every time we visit Ireland again! Thank you for all the memories Rusheen’s Cottage, you will live in our hearts forever. ~ Marc & Michele

Very private compact house - convenient to Kenmare
The house is perfect as a starting point to visit Kenmare, Cork, and 3 of Ireland's beautiful peninsulas in the south west. The kitchen is well stocked with all the needed utensils. Both hosts are delightful and we saw them only when we needed. The house was perfect for us 3 adults but might be a bit crowded if there were more. Very private parking area and entrance. Lots of light and cheery.

all the way up in the hills but not too far to be unconvenient. Everything you need is there. Sauna, great views, comfortably houses a family even if you decide to stay indoors all day. Very relaxed interaction with the owner.

Perfektes Ferienhaus im Südwesten Irlands
Wir hatten eine sehr, sehr schöne Zeit im Rusheens Cottage! Schon der Erstkontakt im Rahmen der Buchung zu Vermieter Markus war sehr herzlich, es wurden im Vorfeld der Reise detaillierte Anfahrtsbeschreibungen und viele Tipps für Ausflüge in und um Kenmare übermittelt. Vor Ort angekommen, wurden wir von Vermieterin Dhara und Hündin Jess sehr freundlich begrüßt. Während unseres Aufenthalts haben wir die ruhige Lage des absolut perfekt ausgestatteten Ferienhauses mit einem beeindruckend gut sortierten Bücherschrank sehr genossen. Es war das Gesamtpaket aus guten Gesprächen mit Dhara, der friedlichen Umgebung, einer super ausgestatteten Küche, dem guten technischen Equipment und natürlich Jess‘ freundlichem Gemüt, dass Rusheens Cottage für uns perfekt war um die Erholung zu finden, die wir so dringend gebraucht haben.

Wir haben eine Woche im Rusheens Cottage genossen. Es ist sehr gemütlich eingerichtet und mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht. Markus hat uns herzlich empfangen und viele gute Tipps für Ausflüge gegeben. Man fühlt sich sofort willkommen. Nach einem langen Ausflug war es herrlich auch noch in die eigene Sauna gehen zu können. Excellent cottage -lovely hosts , perfect location, very cosy cottage
We cannot recommend Rusheen cottage enough. The cottage is located 8 minutes from Kenmare , in a remote and peaceful area with beautiful view on the mountain ( and sound of waterfall/ river nearby ) that is very convenient to visit Ring of Kerry, Beara Peninsula , Killarney National Park ... . The cottage was spotless and has all the amenities that you can need- and much more , the sauna was amazing ! and the kitchen is well equipped - but what we really appreciated is all the little attention around the cottage to make you feel at home ( lots of books , board games, information about the places to visit ..) . The hosts could not be more helpful and friendly, the communication before our arrival was excellent ( with detailed directions so you cannot be lost ) and we have been delighted to meet such lovely people. This is the perfect place for a relaxing week and to recharge your batteries . Thank you again for everything .

The property listing is misleading ..it is off the main road high in the hills(15min) one lane road .. very hard to find at night.. also we had to pay extra for gas which in the listing was not mentioned.. a surprise...but all in all it was a nice place for peace and quiet.. don’t think they rent very often.. I wouldn’t stay there again

The Cottage is reached from Kenmare via the N71 and the L11771 (both public roads maintained by the Kerry Council). The Distance from the Kenmare post office in the centre of town to the Cottage is 4.8km. Generally it takes less than 10 minutes to drive (the quoted 10 minutes will allow for driving extra carefully as the second, part of the road, the L11771 is a narrow country road accounting for 3km of the journey). Prior to arrival we send our guests a PDF document with clear directions and images for every turn between Kenmare and the Cottage (it is 1 turn of the main road N71 then follow the L11771 until you arrive at the Cottage) In addition the instructions include GPS coordinates for Car Navigation Systems, the Postcode which can be used by Google Maps to give turn by turn directions and there is a marker on Google Maps for our Google business listing of Rusheens Cottage. I give my mobile number in case the guests want to amend their arrival time or need help. So far we have had much praise for the directions as they contain clear directions with images and can be printed out ahead of the journey in case the car isn’t fitted with a Navigation System or the smart phone isn’t working. Due to changes in the HomeAway booking system the information about the gas charge was arriving after completing the booking with the booking confirmation. I appreciate it is appropriate to be given prior to booking. My apologies. I have now amended the house rules to display the information prior to booking. Beautiful cottage just outside of town.
We had a great time at Rusheens Cottage. Marcus was a great host and gave us a thorough introduction to how everything operates in the cottage. Cottage was spotless and kitchen was fully equipped. Terrific spot close to Kenmare, Killarney National Park, Ring of Kerry, Ring of Berra, and the Dingle Peninsula. Cottage was up a hill in the woods with mature trees and fields yet close to town. Had a great time in a lovely cottage with terrific hosts.

Great cottage
Rusheens cottage was fabulous. A lovely quiet area nestled in the mountains yet only a few km from Kenmare town. Dhara and Markus were so welcoming and helpful, provided us with lots of information about the area and great tips about places to eat and things to do in the area. The cottage itself was spotlessly clean and very charming. Would definately recommend this cottage and we will book again next time we are in Kenmare. 10/10

Das Haus entsprach zu 100% der Beschreibung. Vor Reiseantritt erhielten wir eine detaillierte Beschreibung des Anfahrtsweges und gute Einkaufstipps. Der deutschstämmige Gastgeber war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, wir hatten gute Gespräche miteinander. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen.

Gemütlich und liebevoll eingerichtetes Haus
Wir haben uns in dem Ferienhaus von Anfang an sehr wohl gefühlt. Wir sind gleich am Auto von der Hündin Jess freundlich begrüßt worden, die Vermieter sind sehr nett und die Tipps für Ausflüge usw. waren wirklich sehr wertvoll. Das Haus ist komplett ausgestattet, es ist alles da, was man sich wünscht. Es liegt sehr ruhig, mitten im Grünen mit einem tollen Blick auf die Berge. Außerdem ist es ein guter Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge zum Killarney Nationalpark, Ring of Kerry, Ring of Beara, Gleninchaquin-Park, Kenmare, zum wunderschönen Derrynane-Beach …. Es war ein wunderschöner Urlaub, wir würden gerne mal wieder kommen.

Sehr schöner Aufenthalt bei Kenmare
Das Haus ist sehr ruhig in einer mehr als 3 km langen Sackgasse gelegen und wirklich mit allem ausgestattet, was man für einen schönen Aufenthalt braucht. Es fehlte wirklich an gar nichts. Die Vermieter sind sehr offen und nett und haben für uns sogar ein paar Dinge zum Essen eingekauft, da wir sehr spät ankamen. Wirklich super! Dafür und für den schönen Urlaub nochmals vielen Dank!

Supergemütliches Haus in schöner ruhiger Lage, mit allem ausgestattet, was man benötigt.
Wir waren für 10 Tage im Rusheens Cottage untergebracht und haben es als Ausgangspunkt für viele Ausflüge genützt. Sofort haben wir uns in dieses nette Häuschen verliebt und fühlten uns heimisch. Dhara und Markus sind perfekte unkomplizierte und nette Gastgeber, bei denen man jederzeit Infos bekommen kann. Die Hündin Jess war unsere Freundin und hat auch auf uns aufgepasst. Wir können uns gut vorstellen, hier nochmal Urlaub zu machen.

Sauber, still, gemütlich und sehr gastfreundlich
Etwas versteckt, aber eine echte Perle! In dem Haus ist reichlich Platz (3 Zimmer mit 4 Betten), in der Küche alles vorhanden (bei uns inklusive Erstversorgung), Markus sehr unkompliziert, nett und hat jede Menge Tipps für die Umgebung. In der Nähe ist mit Kenmare ein schöner Ort mit vielen guten Pubs und Restaurants, Shopping-Möglichkeiten und ein toller Ausgangspunkt für Touren zum Ring of Beara und Ring of Kerry, sowie den Killarney National Park. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Hübsches, gemütliches Haus in Kenmare
Wir haben 10 Tage lang in diesem Haus einen wunderbaren Urlaub verbracht. Es liegt wunderschön und ruhig gelegen, nur ca. 10Min. Autofahrt bis nach Kenmare. Das Häuschen ist sehr gut ausgestattet, mit viel Koch - und Backgeschirr, Spülmaschine, Waschmaschine, Trockner, ausreichend Handtücher und Bettwäsche. Sogar auf deutsches Fernsehen muß man nicht verzichten. Alles ist sehr sauber und gemütlich eingerichtet. Auch Wanderkarten, Reiseführer und Bücher, Zeitschriften sind vorhanden und ausleihbar! Die Vermieter Markus und Dhara sind sehr freundliche, offene und unkomplizierte Menschen, die einem Tipps geben können. Sehr praktisch, dass sie gleich im Haus nebenan wohnen, falls man Fragen hat. In Kenmare gibt es nette Cafés und Restaurants, aber auch drei große Supermärkte, um den Kühlschrank zu füllen. Das Haus liegt optimal, um wunderschöne Tagesausflüge in die nähere Umgebung zu unternehmen. Für Wanderer, Fahrradfahrer optimal. Der Ring of Kerry und Ring of Beara sind gleich um die Ecke. Killarney und der Flughafen Kerry sind ca in einer Stunde mit dem Auto zu erreichen. Wir haben hier eine schöne, erholsame Zeit erlebt und können das Haus nur weiterempfehlen. Es war eines der besten Ferienhäuser, die wir bisher hatten. Auch für Familien prima geeignet. Herzliche Grüße aus Deutschland Gabi, Carmen und Anita

Super wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt!
Unser Urlaub war sehr erholsam. Das Haus war nett und wohnlich ausgestattet. Es hat an nichts gefehlt. Die Vermieter waren immer hilfsbereit und super freundlich. Wir wurden sehr herzlich aufgenommen und bekamen tolle Infos und Tipps. Die Umgebung ist sehr natürlich und ruhig. Kein Auto weit und breit zu hören. Wir können dieses Ferienhaus auf jeden Fall weiter empfehlen.

Urlaub mit Freunden
Sehr schönes Haus mit ruhiger Lage und traumhaften Aussichten. Das Haus ist etwas abgelegen, aber das stört nicht sondern trägt zu der Ruhe und Entspannung positiv bei. Die Vermieter sind super nett und freundlich. Da wir am ersten Tag erst relativ spät ankamen haben sie uns sogar Brot, Wurst, Käse und Butter hingestellt. Auch an der Innenausstattung mangelt es dem Haus an nichts. Dementsprechend kann ich jedem der Irland in Reinform erleben möchte dieses Haus empfehlen.
