”Had a fantastic four days here, the steep windy concrete road is worth takling as the views from the detached rooms are incredible, the bar and restauarant are open all the day and serve great food and drinks at a good price. The staff are truly wonderful and made us feel welcome. 6 mins away is a local port that does good value island trips, including James Bond Island. Definately recommended and will come back some time soon.”

”Everything was perfect for us. There was everything for us even tough the hotel is 45 min boat trip from Phuket. The hotel is located almost in the middle of jungle. Sea view is perhaps better from treehouse villas than beachfront pool villa.”

We stayed in a Sea View Villa 151 - the room was amazing with direct beach access (closest to the beach out of all of the villas), a nice private pool, and great sunrise views directly from bed! Definitely recommend this room.
The resort location was beautiful, and you can see lots of wildlife - we spotted hornbills (lots of them!) squirrels, monkeys and bats. The beach was also lovely, and some great places to kayak to nearby.

"Absolutely outstanding stay – a perfect family getaway! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
From the moment we arrived, this hotel exceeded all expectations. The staff were the true highlight: warm, welcoming, and always one step ahead in making sure everything ran smoothly. Whether it was the front desk, restaurant staff, or housekeeping, every single person we met treated us with genuine kindness and professionalism. The view from the entrance was already breath-taking. The hotel is gorgeously designed, with immaculate landscaping throughout.
The breakfast buffet was phenomenal – fresh tropical fruits, eggs made to order, pastries, local specialties, and excellent coffee. We also thoroughly enjoyed the resort’s dining options, especially the Beach restaurant. Be sure not to miss the Surf and Turf Buffet Dinner.
Our room was spacious, immaculately clean, and tastefully decorated. The beds were comfortable. Our kids especially loved the spacious bunk beds and direct pool access.
The pools were a family favorite – beautifully designed with plenty of loungers and a pool bar. Everything was clean, well-maintained, and peaceful, with poolside service that was both prompt and friendly.
Just steps away was the beach, which was soft, clean, and uncrowded. The tide moved the shoreline a couple of hundred meters and it was fun to walk towards the sea at low tide.
Anantara Koh Yao Yai has the best kids’ club we’ve ever seen. There’s so much for children to do there.

At first, we were presented with a villa that was not the same as the one we had booked. Thank god, we finally got to the right villa.
The villa was nice and clean.
The mood of the first day was lowered by a snake that we saw at our pool, the staff went to catch it, and a cockroach that we caught inside the apartment.
Although we have traveled a lot on the different islands of Thailand, we had never encountered a snake at the accommodation before.
I would have expected that a five-star hotel would have a better look at the yard areas, especially since the snake came towards us as soon as we arrived at the villa.
I recommend the hotel if your goal is to sunbathe in your own peace.
