The Lighthouse at Loop Head, Co Clare
Loop Head lighthouse is at the end of a long peninsula that forms the 'upper lip' of the Shannon Estuary. For long ignored, the local community has recently made huge progress in promoting the region for tourism. The result is an area oozing with character and a multitude of local crafts and coffee shops of very high quality. The area is extremely rich in wildlife, heath vegetation, cliffs and some rare breeding birds. You won't be disappointed here, despite the long trek needed to get here.

Wonderful hosts! The staff is more than friendly and helpful. The premises are located in an amazing location surrounded by the ocean. Great views and easy parking.

Doonbeg house
Bathrooms were tiny, had no mirrors and hot water did not work in one. Remote for one tv did not work. Lighting was poor in kitchen and dining room. Pull on one drawer was broken. Exposed wires in dining room. Cushions did not fit in living room. Needed better instructions for stove.
