Lapset nauttivat lyhyen kävelymatkan päässä Avalon-laiturilta kalastukseen ja peleihin. Ostokset ovat vain korttelin päässä kaikesta, mitä tarvitset, ja olet kävelymatkan päässä joihinkin kaupungin tunnetuimmista paikallisista ravintoloista. Vain muutaman minuutin päässä useista putt-putt-paikoista, mene kärryihin, elokuviin ja päivittäistavaroihin! Beautiful Sunrise

Our family visited Kill Devil Hills for the first time (Shades of Blue) during the off season. The location is fantastic. Beach/waterfront location that is also walking distance to the Target. We enjoyed beautiful sunrises each morning and the stars in the evening from the upper deck off of the primary bedroom. There was plenty of space for our family of four. We will look to book again in the future!

We enjoyed our stay at Shades of Blue. The sunrises were amazing and got better with each day. The rental was also located in a great spot close to everything we wanted to do!

A perfect retreat

Shades of Blue house was so welcoming. It had everything I needed for a week of peaceful alone time. I appreciated the small touches like extra charging stations and outlets on extension cords, and the binoculars in the upstairs sitting room that faced the ocean. The view through the back windows is simply Breathtaking and worth gazing at every chance you get.

Perfect Location for a Getaway

Shades Of Blue was such a relaxing and rejuvenating space. We were yards away from the beach and because we went early in the year it seemed like we had the whole beach to ourselves. The house was clean and had all of the cooking utensils to make a fine meal. Our dogs loved sunbathing on the back deck while we were in the hot tub. We will definitely be back!

This is a fine place to stay but you can get better places for your money. When we walked in, there was a mouse trap set on the floor in the first bedroom. 1. Am I going to be dealing with mice during this stay? 2. My son (or dog) could have easily snapped himself in that trap. I was very upset. The first night there were no problems, but we found two live cockroaches during our stay and wound up having to kill three mice. An exterminator was sent after our food was eaten on the counter and we discovered mouse droppings in various places in the kitchen. You could also hear the mice in the vents and in the kitchen in the evenings. Upon contacting the manager, it appeared that this was a known problem. No apologies were given. I don’t think it’s petty to expect one when on a vacation with your family, your food is destroyed and you have to repeatedly be on guard for pests. We have stayed in various places on this beach and won’t stay here again.

Can't wait to come back!

The house was spotless, cozy, and the perfect size for our family. The captain's chairs on each balcony made every night unforgettable as we sipped wine and listened to the waves. The surrounding neighborhood was perfect to stroll with our dog as well. Ther owner and staff asked us if we needed anything mid week, making us feel so welcomed. Loved it! Can't wait to return.

March vacation

It was a lovely property and very comfortable! We enjoyed the hot tub nightly...could not ask for a better view! Direct oceanfront was incredible! We actually saw dolphins playing in the surf. Very attentive hosts. A slight hiccup with the ice machine, and they delivered a bag of ice! Our stay was enjoyable and we would not hesitate to return. Ty again.

Wonderful 3 bedroom beachfront house.

This is the perfect size house for two couples, or a family with a couple of children. We had 4 adults using all three bedrooms and a couple of dogs. We really appreciate a dog friendly house and this one has has been treated with respect by us and other dog owners. All the upholstery fabrics were clean, pretty, and in good shape. The wood floors are lovely. Towels and linens were fresh and clean. Very nicely styled for a smaller sized house. The master bedroom, with side cosy sitting room and view is fabulous. Room for improvement were the twin beds, very bouncy for an adult- at least one of them needs to be firmer. The decks were sturdy and well maintained and the hot-tub was clean and worked well. Kitchen is well stocked with dishes, pans, etc and baths were very clean! Dishwasher works really well. We experienced almost every type of weather (other than 95* and snow) during our stay-- very cold weather, 30MPH wind, 16 foot waves, then warm days with glassy seas. So beautiful each and every day. House had good heating and AC. The realty company who handles this property were very efficient and most friendly. Our only compliant was that in the emailed instructions: they listed two different addresses for the property (miles apart) and insisted we use their directions rather than GPS. The directions were for someone coming from the northern route and we were coming up from the south, plus we went to the wrong address first. All this was very confusing and started our first impressions off poorly. Otherwise everything was GREAT!

Everything we wanted!

We loved staying in this home! If the house wasn’t already reserved for the remainder of the year we would have loved to return with our kids. The Location was perfect, we enjoyed sitting in the hot tub and watching the dolphins. Make sure to have a picture of the key code on your phone, because if you leave the door automatically locks when it shuts - could be an issue when you first arrive and are unloading the car. This trip we were looking at properties and if this was for sale we would have put an offer in! Everything was wonderful and as expected.

Fabulous Beach House

This Beachhouse was just what we needed. Perfect size for a small group. Excellent setup and very clean. We found it very convenient to restaurants, shopping and things to do in OBX and the views of the sunrises from the decks were incredible. No roads or long walks to get to the beach, you just go out the door and you’re there. It was perfect. Being right on the beach and going to sleep listening to the surf was one of the greatest stress relievers ever and waking to those gorgeous sunrises?, niiiice. The owners and the company who manage this property were helpful, polite and very accessible both during the reservation process and our stay but honestly, this house is set up so well for guests, we didn’t need to reach out during our stay with any questions or issues. We would absolutely stay here again. Thank you!

Easy access to everything

My wife and I stayed for a few days during the off season. Shades of Blue was perfect for the stay. Being in the beach with its stunning views amazed us right away. The kitchen was well stocked. The amenities were well thought through. The location is great - in the middle of the outer banks between Cape hatteras to the south and Corolla to the north. Nothing is more than an hour away, and the beach is right off your doorstep. Even closer are the wright brothers memorial and jockey ridge state park. Dogs being allowed was a huge plus.
