”As soon as I walked in greeted with a smile and directions on where to check in. The staff at reception and cafe were polite friendly and very welcoming. The room was a good size with USB ports, bathroom also was a good size, no A/C in the room but was provided a fan. The bed in my opinion (and just my preference) was a bit hard, but being honest you will never please everyone as everyone preference are different. ”Beautiful pub with rooms and staff were outstanding. Our rooms were really well appointed and clean. The food was good but we were a little underwhelmed with our meals. Salmon main dish was dripping in very salty miso and soy sauce. Restaurant was v busy and we were advised that there could be a wait for food. ”So bad soundproofing that we were able to hear our neighbours talking and coughing. Also some dog was barking outside in the morning. Breakfast was average. Location was OK but due to roadwork it took long to get there from the city. The water pressure in the shower was so weak that I couldn't wash my tick hair. Not worth the money. ”

”Enjoyed our stay in a garden room. Although the gardens aren’t totally finished it’s nice to see the progress being made and on a sunny day it’s nice to have direct access. Fantastic meal in the kitchen restaurant. We had dined in prevost on previous occasions but the standard of dishes in the other restaurant was great. Friendly reception when we arrived. Breakfast is fantastic. If you are looking for a night or two to relax in a pretty and period setting then this hotel is recommended.”
