”A fab stay at the hare and hounds. What a fabulous friendly pub with great helpful staff. Food was fantastic. Our room was spacious, clean and had beautiful views. We will definitely be back and couldn't recommend more to anyone wanting a base to stay for great walks and villages surrounding.”

”Good location near town Centre but reasonably quiet at night . Lovely clean single room (Room 5) with plenty of electrical sockets and very comfortable duvet and bed, great breakfast in the morning and friendly staff, what more can I say? Shared clean bathroom with good shower. Would definitely return again.”

”Great stay for two night break on the coast to Coast trail. Staff was friendly and helpful. Friday nights are very loud with karaoke so be prepared! Food was good, but basic pub food. Breakfast had several choices and the avocado and poached egg was especially good. There's an awesome Indian restaurant called the mango tree just a few buildings down. Laundromat behind the Black Bull hotel which was very convenient. About 6 pounds to run the washer and one or two for the dryer. There's a tourist...

”From walking in the door staff were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean, with a good powerful shower. Breakfast was excellent in terms of quantity and quality, again with very friendly service. The only slight negative that I had was, what I assume was air freshener, was very overpowering and unpleasant.”
