We can only apologise for the inconvenience with regards to the airlessness you experienced although the room had a window we unfortunately had a situation with the extractor fan in the bathroom for your room and the replacement is still yet to arrive, and although some people would possible simply say to place air conditioning units in our rooms these would in essence take away from the heritage of the building that we most certainly do not want to lose. The Hotels décor is not to everyone's taste as we have tried to keep the buildings heritage displayed through our colour scheme and furnishings, unfortunately the room you had been allocated too was an internal room and we can never guarantee which room each guest will be allocated too when reservations are made through online booking systems however if you do wish to stay with ourselves again in the near future when visiting the local area please do not hesitate to mention that you would prefer an alternative room to No 15 and we will do all we can to make sure you are not allocated to this room.

We do find your comments to be disheartening as we try to keep the historic character of our buildings within the décor but we do know this is not to everybody's taste, we do feel that our rooms are sized accordingly and are stated as such plus we have made nearly all our bathrooms to have a fresh modern look but there a couple still in need of restoration. We have had the noise issue investigated and it turned out to be one of our boiler pumps generating the issue which has been rectified to ensure that no future guests will have to endure as you did, and all members of staff have been spoken too regarding information being passed over and for the way each issue should be dealt with. Dear Gill Our sincerest apologies for not responding to your comments sooner, as with all online bookings our system will allocate to a room available and as you state that the member of staff did try to have you placed on a lower floor but was unsuccessful. We sincerely apologies to both you and your husband personally as the member of staff on duty should have offered to take your luggage, we have made some improvements to the décor of many of our rooms since your stay. Our Chef has been dealt with regarding the problems that had occurred the second night you dined and deeply regrets that it was not to your expectations after your 1st.
