The decor of the room was a little worn, but the bathroom looked recently renovated. Room facilities were good, and the internet-connection worked as expected. There are countless dining options in Ikebukuro, and Ikebukuro station is extremely well connected.”

Breakfast was provided and there were plenty of restaurants and convenient stores nearby. ”I have been staying at the Hotel Metropolitan for over 30 years and it always shines! Everyone is very friendly, the rooms and common areas kept very clean. I did have one issue on this visit as there was an occasional odor in my hallway and room as if the sewer had backed up. I was on the 7th floor. I hope this was temporary and fixable as it was quite unpleasant at times. Thank you.”

”Everything is functional, accessible and quiet. After the hustle and bustle settling in a hotel slightly away from the electric spots is very relaxing. A train ride away will get you there. 5 minute walk to a train station. Room is always kept clean. Amenities are practical. ”

”The building is older but the room seems to be refurbished recently. The hotel is close to the station, affordable, and the room is relatively large. I could open my big luggage on the floor without it being in the way all the time. For some reason in the bathroom, the ceiling is low over half of the bath tub, so you need to be careful not to hit your head on it while showering if you are taller than about 175 cm.
