4* hotel I would not stay here again. This is not a 4* hotel. Can get better 2* hotels. Too many issues! When you book a 4* hotel there are certain minimum standards of service that you expect. However, to deliver that service you need to have enough of the right people. This hotel has insufficient staff. Most of the staff that were there have had little or no hospitality training. We booked 3 nights here with the spa and treatments being a key attraction. Upon checking in we were told the spa is shut - without further explanation. Boom! Take that! A new reception staff member behind the desk just stared at us. No smile. No ola. No 'someone will be with you'. Nothing. In the wrong profession. A 4 star hotel will normally have a general manager (GM) with an eye for detail, but there is clearly not one operating here. Faulty Towers. Flaws everywhere. No operations managers , no department heads - no one is in charge here. Was not all bad. Hotel located in a peaceful area. The bed was comfortable. There is parking. 2 tennis courts. Standard of food - including breakfast - good. Gym was adequately equipped. Pool area was calm - until noisy leaf blower man made one of his very unwelcome and untimely visits. One member of staff called Belen was great. But she needs more help. More people. Trained people. Poor Belen. When waiter Inniesta dropped a large glass bottle his co-waiter laughed. You stay in a castle on the top of a hill. That alone is all you need to know. A unique place, people live in the castle with property being bought and sold. Interesting place just to walk around. Restaurant was good and reasonably priced for its location. We stayed in a two bedroom unit with kitchen--good if you were looking to stay a while, but we only stayed a day. The AC is great. The Internet solid. A GEM

Quite ok for 2 stars. Would be really nice on the summer and nice weather with swimming pool and the surroundings. Full size bathtub was a nice bonus. Walking distance to the main sight, the pedestrian street with restaurants. Breakfast was good, nothing special but enough.

Truly stunning view from the balcony of the harbor and Gibraltar and a 12-minute walk to the Gibraltar border.
