Ympärivuotinen Lake Shafer -koti, 3 makuuhuonetta (kuningas, täysi, kahden hengen), 3 kylpyhuonetta. Lakefront kotiin vain muutaman askeleen päässä vedestä. 120 'järven julkisivu venerampilla. Järven etukansi. Mukava järvipiha, jossa palokammio (polttopuut mukana), ulkokaiuttimet, piknikpöytä, ulkotuolit, sementtiseinä / puoli kävellä, kelluva laituri tikkaat. Ulkoilmaelokuvat saatavilla (erittäin siistiä - ulkoilmaelokuvia tulisijakuopan vieressä kesäillalla). Upea keittiö, jossa kaikki perusasiat (astianpesukone, mikroaaltouuni), sekä 18 litran kalkkunapaahto, iso krokki, Oster Kitchen Center (tehosekoitin / sekoitin / raastin). Jenn Air-keittotaso valuraudan keittolevyllä. Keurig ja tavalliset kahvinkeittimet. Plus toinen pieni keittiö järvenrannalla, erittäin söpö. Kaksi jääkaappia. Useita taitettavia pöytiä ja tuoleja. Kotiteatteri kattoasennetulla projektorilla ja surround-äänellä. Popcorn-valmistaja, paranna elokuvakokemustasi maustavalla popcornilla, kuten elokuvissakin. Kotiteatterissa on kolme sohvaa, jotka taitetaan monilla eri vaihtoehdoilla. Kolme televisiota, kaikissa dvd-soittimilla. Kaksi stereot, CD-vaihtaja, kaiuttimet sijaitsevat koko talossa. Great Time!!

The house was cute and quirky and had everything we needed! It was clean and well stocked with sheets, blankets, pillows, towels, lake toys and floaties, books, movies and games. And the popcorn machine was a big hit with the kids! Mike was an excellent and responsive host. Would definitely book again!

Great property

This property was simply amazing… great location, easy to find, and very accurate to the pics if not better! We went with a family of 10 and had everything we could possibly need! Grill, tons of beds and linens, plenty of bathrooms and kitchen supplies! We fished. Had a fire. And just hung out! Used the projector to watch the Kentucky Derby! Was very pleased with our stay and would love to come back when it’s warmer!

Family vacation

The house had lots of places to sleep. One bathroom super small another bathroom was a little bigger than the 3rd bathroom was much better. The kitchen very small and everything out dated. The whole house really needs an update. When we first got there the house smelled like cat pee but that did go away. The outside had lots of room for everyone. Wonderful views and great dock to jump off and dock a boat. Fire pit was great. Overall it was great. Lots of books and board games and plenty of Towles.

Family vacation

We had a great time at Mike’s place. We have a large family and had plenty of room for everyone. It was a very relaxing place, just sitting by the water and fishing. If you like shade, there is a yard with trees and lots of spaces for parking. Mike was a great host and helped us set up an outdoor movie, which was fun. If you have a boat, you will love the set up. We didn’t have a boat, but we still had a blast. One day at the amusement park, which is one of my favorite places in the world, another day we drive about half an hour to France Park, which was a wonderful state park with waterfalls, hiking, fishing and swimming. They have scuba diving, too. The taco place down the road that is on the water has amazing food! We went there twice, The kids liked floating and swimming off the pier and playing euchre on the picnic table. The house is like visiting grandparents at the lake when I was a kid. It’s homey and not so “perfect” that you are afraid to live in it.

Another great time at Mike's Place!

This has become our go-to for an annual summer trip. Like hanging out at the cool Uncle's place. Has everything you need on site. Swim off the dock, lounge in the yard or by the sea-wall, relax around the firepit and watch the water. Close to everything; Indiana Beach, boat rentals, real grocery stores, even Wally-mart. Margeritas while kicked back in a float chair anyone? Blenders in the kitchen waiting on you! Want a burger? Grills just outside the door. Kids getting restless during a rain storm? Fire up the theatre room! Great all round stays every time!

4th of July to remember

We had the best time! The house has everything you could possibly need. We had family and friends come by during our week long stay! It was the best! We didn’t utilize the outside theater but next time we will! The house was clean and well stocked. Being right on the lake and having access to a boat dock was perfect! We spent our days and most of the evening boating. If we could give more then 5 stars we would!

Family Lake Vacation with Boating/Skiing

This property worked well with our family group of 10. We had 5 adults; 4 teens and 1 10-year-old. 3 bedrooms for the adults; the media room with flexible futons for the teen girls; and another room with futons for the 2 guys (1 teen and 1 10-yr-old). We set up a folding table in the open kitchen for more dining space. The 3 bathrooms were great with plenty of towels for daily showers and plenty of hot water! Outdoor space was great with 2 docks, boat ramp, fire pit and much more. My husband's grandparents had a cottage on Lake Shafer when he was growing up and this place helped us create the same kind of memory-making opportunity in 2024 that my hubby had when he was a kid. We spent 1 day at Indiana Beach Amusement Park and would highly recommend! The host was very attentive and was quick to respond to questions. It was a great stay... and we would seriously consider a return visit!

The kitchen is small but extremely well stocked. The house is very clean but dated. Air conditioning and ceiling fans worked well. Very quiet neighborhood. Excellent internet service.

Enjoyable 3rd visit

Great location, lots of space, and friendly owner. The previous times we visited, a few household things were't working, but we had fun. This last visit, the carpet areas were dirty, bathroom floor in lake bedroom wasn't clean, and bedroom next to garage smelled of cigarette smoke. The love seat recliner is broken on the left side, and the king size bed caves in on the side next to the door. It's a great place, just needs some updated furniture and a deep cleaning.

Don't think I could find something to nit pick or complain about even if I tried.

Used to come to this area on vacation during summer breaks with my family when i was a kid. This was one of my favorite stays ever. If Mike would have us back again in the future, we'll definitely be back. We all loved everything about this stay. Thank you!

Great, hospitable, family lake house.

The perfect lake stay. The boat ramp and boat lift on site made for a super easy boating experience. The house is decorated in a relaxed style which is very user friendly. You can tell the owners have enjoyed their many years here and want you to sample their place. Dock for the kids to swim off of and also fish. The river is very clean and you can even see down into it three or four feet. I can not say enough about Indiana Beach's amusement park. It's like a step back in time to the old school parks. You can even take your boat from the property down to the park and dock there. I wanted to schedule next summers stay but they were pretty much all booked up. We will be staying here summer 2025. Thanks for the memories Mike

Host is GREAT but the property needs help

The host was wonderful, very communicative and willing to help when needed. And the property itself has a lot of great amenities but really needs a DEEP cleaning and better maintenence. We knew going into it that the house wasn't up to date with the latest fixtures and decor, that wasn't a problem. But we were expecting it to at least be clean and everything to be in working order. The oven wouldn't get up to temp, the ice/water dispenser in the fridge didn't work half the time and when you open the freezer, ice chips would rain out all over the kitchen floor, the outdoor gas grill didn't work well (but host did come over and fix it so that was nice), the indoor theater didn't work at first (but host did also come fix this), and one of the reclining couches was broken. Regarding cleanliness, there was a ton of icky crums in between the cusions of the seats in the theater room that one of our toddlers discovered, the bottom outside of refrigerator looked like it was growing fuzzy mold, and there's a bad ant problem, not to mention dust and cobwebs throughout. That all said, the bedding and towels were all clean and fresh and the bathrooms were clean as well. It's like all the basic cleaning is tended to but very much lacks regular deep cleaning. Nothing was so bad that we had to leave and we did enjoy our time but it was disappointing. I feel a little bad saying all this because the host really was very nice but it's just my honest review and I have to say we won't be back.

Great Lake House!

This was our third year here and we already have next year booked! Everyone loves it! Everything you could possibly need and more, super close to Indiana Beach and the boat ramp and lift are a wonderful perk!

This is our second time at this home. Our kids love the lake and had a great time. The owner is very communicative and helpful. The outdoor theater and bonfires are the best.

Great family fun!

We brought way too much, not knowing what might be available on site. Everything we might have needed was there already! Fully equipped kitchen, linens, towels, compressor for inflatables, etc. Could have left half the truck at home and been fine. Vintagey lakehouse vibe combined with modern conveniences; very fun. Easy drive to Indiana Beach and groceries makes lazy days lounging in the water off the dock and watching the kids swim, simple. All round good experience for everyone. Already planning next year!
