Chalet't – Lake District National Park

”A wonderful old country house for an overnight stay. The staff were exceptional, from check-in, through evening meal, to check-out. Welcoming, friendly and professional. We had an excellent meal in The Grill. The view from our room was spectacular.”

”We stayed only 1 overnight on the way down from scotland. We could see lot of people staying for visiting the lakes. The hotel is in a very nice location. They are also pet friendly and they provided us a towel and a bowl for the dog. We highly recommend both breakfast and set menù dinner which was very nice. Room was clean and bathroom looked recently renewed.”

”One of the few hotels in central Ambleside with lots of facilities which was a bonus. Although the sauna and steam room were a little chilly! Areas of the hotel were being upgraded with others still to do - bathrooms and main dining area.”

”Lovely B&B with spacious, comfy room & bathroom, all spotless and containing everything we needed. Excellent breakfast with a good selection of bars and restaurants nearby for dinner. Easy walk from here down to Bowness. Easy check-in and advance breakfast ordering system but the icing on the cake were the lovely staff. Advised them we had just got quietly married and got back to find they’d decorated our bed! So sweet ❤️”

The reason I gave a poor review rating overall was because the fire alarm went off at 12:50 am and then rang intermittently for 45 minutes because apparently the Staff could not override a fault on the control panel or something like that. ”A clean and spacious room with easy access and a super large and comfortable bed. Staff couldn't do more for us, really friendly and welcoming. Loved the open garden space, well maintained and was calm and peaceful. On Sunday morning, the hotel provided a bird of pray session, the guy taking the session was super knowledgeable - such a great added extra. Great sized car park, easily accessible. Breakfast was great quality, service was quick and offered everything we needed. Approx a 15/20 minute...

”The hotel was very tired and run down. There wasn’t a phone in the room, so we couldn’t call for ice or a new bath robe (as the one we had was dirty from a previous guest). The room was too hot and there wasn’t any air con. There was mould in the bathroom. The towels were supposed to be white but more greyish. The bar area was very pleasant, so was the swimming pool. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel really needs some TLC with the fixtures and fittings, as well as towels / dressing...
