”The worst hotel & spa I have ever been to, would not even call this place a spa - my gym has better facilities. Spa in a pub (ridiculous as it sounds). People drinking alcohol in the spa (including in the steam room). Pitch black in the spa - accident waiting to happen. Rude staff. Too busy for the size of the hotel. Had a massage but couldn't relax because it was so loud & lairy in the spa. Room was tiny, narrow and twisted staircase which was a nightmare taking luggage up. Bathroom not cleaned...

”We were surprised to find out that the parking was not guaranteed and limited, once we had paid on-line. However, we got there early and did secure a space. Excellent location in the heart of Grasmere. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Breakfast was good.”

”3 nights in late July. Hotel is a great place to stay to experience the Lake District, not far from Ambleside but remote enough to feel like you are really in nature. Staff and breakfast were excellent. Walk up to Stickle Tarn was a good test with a couple of scrambly bits but well worth it once you got there.”
