”Friendly welcoming staff, varied menu and excellent food and atmosphere in the bar area. Good choice of breakfast and plenty of it. Clean and quiet room with a comfortable bed and small but adequate en-suite. We would stay again and would happily recommend it to others.”

”I had a basement room, 2 flights of stairs down with no lift. No window in the room and poor television reception. Otherwise the room was ok.”

”The staff in the restaurant were absolutely amazing each and everyone of them was brilliant in their job role the room was comfortable and clean the bed was very comfortable the food was beautiful and the breakfast was delicious x”

”Great parking,fast check-in with very friendly, helpful knowledgeable staff. The breakfast menu is superb with fast efficient service. The rooms are clean, and the bed is super comfy and serviced daily and has tea/ coffee making facilities and biscuits. The bathroom has a large shower with soap and shower gel supplied. We look forward to our next visit.”

”Nice big room and bathroom, the only downside was staying there during a hot spell and the bathroom got the sum very early morning and the bedroom for the rest of the day making it unbearable to sleep in, even though there was a fan provided. The bottom sheet didnt fit the bed properly so with shuffling due to the heat it didnt stay on for long. Great location and a good base for visiting the area and plenty of parking. We had breakfast but wished we hadnt as it was very disappointing when...

”Our room was in the Old Swan,it is a property that the Old Lodge must own. It's a few minutes walk from the lodge.It was ok but wouldn't stay again. Breakfast was lovely,fresh fruit, croissants, everything cooked to order. The only niggle was that we went for a drink in the lounge about 9 o clock,and it was just staff stood there ,one was swearing,which I don't think was acceptable in a posh establishment and while guests were present . Check in staff were lovely,but we won't be staying again.”

”I stayed for 4 nights at the Holiday Inn in York. I was warmly greeted by the receptionist and was checked in quickly. As I don't use lifts, the receptionist arranged for my suitcase to be taken up to my room. My room, on the 2nd floor, was big and looked very clean. There was a double bed, 2 seater sofa, TV, plenty of hanging space but only 5 hangers, and tea/coffee making facilities. Whilst the bathroom was quite small it had everything you could want (shower only, no bath). There was plenty...

”Gorgeous location. Big room with comfy bed and good bathroom. Cosy bar and we enjoyed a lovely meal. Nice walk into the tiny village for cafe and another pub. Good value. If you’re not a dog person it’s worth noting there were a lot of guests with dogs.”

”The staff were polite and provide good customer service. The room was Clean and tidy. Bit dated fitting with a hotel of its age. Could do with Fridge and some modernisation to room. Breakfast was excellent and plenty of choice hot & cold.”
