”Very peaceful location. House was clean. Has large yard and would be great area to sit outside at night on a summer night. Hosts were attentive and prompt when we requested additional firewood for the wood burning stove. Had four fawns visit one evening. Spent all waking hours sight seeing and visiting attractions. If you have not experienced a self recycling toilet, you may be surprised. But I must say, due to the way the toilet vents there is absolutely no odor. The bed and toilet sit high, so...

”Went on early season visit to Mount Rushmore and Custer state park. Beautiful area and we had the privilege of being first to stay at the property being renovated. Cottage was very nice and will be back.”

”Custer was the perfect spot for us to see all the things the Black Hills has to offer. The cozy cabin was just the right size and had all the things we needed to cook, relax, and play. Favorite pieces of the house: the playground, the throw blankets, oscillating fan in each bedroom, the grill and carport. Top notch stay!”

”This was our first trip to the Black Hills, and the Little Elk Cottage was the perfect setting for our trip. The cottage is adorable, very private and within reasonable driving times to the area’s attractions. The cottage was well equipped and well furnished. We had a very relaxing getaway, and would recommend the cottage to anyone visiting the Black Hills area. Herb M.”

”We loved the town of Custer and this charming house was right in the heart of it. We were able to walk to restaurants and shops. The location was also a perfect jumping off point for seeing the sites in the Black Hills. We went far and wide and decided our favorite excursion was a day in Custer State Park, where we saw Bison and Prairie Dogs and a host of other wildlife. It was awesome to come home each day to the peaceful little cottage where we ended the evening with a movie and then to bed....

”The room or the price could not be beat. The beds were comfortable and each person had their own private bedroom. The Breakfast had enough options for the length of our stay. Our only issue is our room was directly over the main hallway and you could definitely hear voices and doors closing. I would still recommend the place but try to avoid room 205. ”
