”Ran by a wonderful couple who are really friendly and accommodating. The lodge is in a beautiful location and the facilities and room are lovely. Breakfast was included and we were asked beforehand what we wanted so it would be ready for the time we requested. And it tasted wonderful. Me and my girlfriend have visited here twice now and I'd greatly recommend a stay here.”

”This is a cute place to stay but a bit dated. It is dog friendly and it was lovely to see so many furry friends enjoying a trip! We stayed in a building round the back which had some quirky wallpaper but needed an upgrade. Interesting rules around breakfast which were explained in terrifying detail by staff who had been well briefed - "You have 30 minutes from when you enter until you must leave, and you can have one hot drink refill". That was a bit much, but we complied!”

”Room 1 is extremely small, but was spotless and the bed extremely comfortable. There were too few staff. Service at dinner and the bar was very slow. Dinner wasn't as hot as it should have been. There was too much food on a small plate, I had to hunt under the chicken for my vegetables! Overall, it's quite expensive for food that although was delicious it wasn't hot and not served in a timely manner.”

”Lovely guesthouse Great comfy bed. Lovely home cooked breakfast with good produce. We were attending a wedding at the nearby Wennington Hall and Kevin kindly dropped us off and picked us up at the end of the evening. He did not request any payment fir this but we did tip him, ”

”I did not get to stay at the OVO, I booked the wrong date (my error), but having paid Expedia for insurance that would alow me to make changes to the booking, the venue wanted to charge a handling fee that was 100% of the room cost. seeing that it would have cost me the full room cost on top of whatever the actual day would cost me I decided not to cancel and to book elsewhere.”

”Beautiful hotel, second time staying for one night, breakfast included, evening meal have to book separately which was easy to do. Everything about this hotel, location, availability of rooms, staff and food was truly amazing. We will be booking again, probably near Christmas time.”

”We were made to feel welcome on arrival, the pub is very old with plenty of character, the room was basic but adequate. The bar had a good choice of beers including reel ale. The breakfast was lovely.”

”From check in to check out the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. In fact, from when you pull into the car park you get the feeling it’s a special place. The building is a beautifully well maintained old building with some rather stunning modern extras. The room we had was spacious and beautifully presented, with a very comfy bed! ”I booked a standard ensuite double room but upgraded to the Tudor Suite. I chose this hotel because it is hundreds of years old, which is something we don’t get to experience much in the USA! The hotel obviously has all the charm of such an old place and would be awesome for a romantic getaway (although I was traveling alone on this trip!). There is lots of parking, which is free. ”Small room but perfect for what we needed for one stay following a trip to watch footie in Burnley. The lady on breakfast service was very kind and friendly and we all enjoyed the breakfast - would stay again and great we could bring the dog too”

”Friendly and professional staff. Wonderful evening meal (the Halloumi Flatbread was delicious). Good parking, spacious bedroom well appointed. The chilled complimentary fruit juice & water was much appreciated after a 400 mile journey! My only issue was that room 4 was right over the outside seating area and I can only imagine that during World Cup season this could prove to be a problem. As it was I did have the creaking stairs (access for all guests) and loud music blasting from the bar below...
