”I guess I could have stayed at the Virgin Hotel Nee Orleans. Or at other snazzy places. But staying at the Pontchartrain and its storied past, I felt I was connecting with New Orleans and its history in a deeper way. I especially liked the Silver Whistle cafe, the Bayou Bar and its excellent jazz offerings, the views from the Tin Roof (named after Tennessee Williams’ “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof,” of course), and the Jack Rose restaurant. I highly recommend!”

”This is a small and unique property, with a very welcoming staff. It is a "throw back" to the times when hotels were a special place and not a chain commodity. The rooms were large and well appointed. The hotel is close to the Vieux Carre, but far enough away from the madness of Bourbon Street. Our room had the best hotel shower ever - which says a lot about the quality of the property in general. I would not hesitiate to stay there again.”
