I was surprised when we pulled up to the hotel, it felt very isolated from any type of district or neighborhood. It didn’t feel walkable to anything, but if you walk three blocks south you’ll find Feret street and plenty of interesting restaurants and businesses. The location was very convenient for our quick stopover to visit a friend at Tulane. The staff was always quick to welcome us as we passed through the lobby and we enjoyed the midcentury vibe.
I don’t know that I would’ve used the pool as it was tucked behind the building and the building mechanicals and surrounded by the medical center buildings. Same for the balconies, you’re not going to be looking at anything other than the medical buildings or the parking lot.
The room had a slight odor from the hvac unit.
All of this to say, that for the 12 hours we stayed, it was everything we needed. Free parking allowed us to constantly come and go in our car and the proximity to the hwy allowed us to get a quick start on our 12 hour drive home.
