Lemele lies at the foot of the Lemelerberg, a moraine of about 60 m high. The Sallandse Heuvelrug lies between the Hanseatic cities of Deventer and Zwolle on one side and Twente on the other. The area, created in the ice age, consists of no fewer than 26 hills, the river Regge and the largest contiguous dry heathland in north-western Europe. You can organise excellent walking and cycling trips here.
