”We have just returned from a lovely weekend at Hillcrest cottage. It is exactly as shown in the listing. We loved the hot tub and sitting around the fire outside on the terrace watching the stars! Although it seems quite isolated it is less than half an hour’s stroll from Dunston and a few minutes further to Metheringham. The cottage and the views were stunning and we would highly recommend!”

”We arrived at the property and called the person we had been advised to, to get the code for entry into the studio. She said she no.longer did the caretaking but knew who did, and she offered to call him and ask him to call us. He did, but we were not on his list of bookings. ”The location of this immaculate property was perfect. Step out of the front door (on Steep Hill) and you are right in the centre of all the tourist attractions. The designated parking space was a must have in this historical city. There was a welcome pack waiting for us which was most appreciated. ”Beautiful barn conversion, very cosy and very well presented with everything you could possibly need. Karen met us and was the perfect host throughout. It is a bit tricky to find the property, however if you get lost like we did just ask someone as all the locals know Karen! ”We stayed for 3 nights in May , we had a nice relaxing few days.. park has a lot of facilities.. which you need a pass to use, also need a pass for use of the restaurants which we didn’t realise, but we cooked as plenty of equipment in the kitchen. Would return for another short break”

”The lodge has a lovely aspect, with uninterrupted views over the lake, it is extremely well equipped catering for all your needs. Unfortunately the information folder was missing so we had to contact the owner to get the WiFi code. The owner’s put in an awful lot of effort into the presentation of the lodge and even decorating it for Easter, much appreciated.
