”Stayed here over the Festival weekend. Hanger Down House is just south of Arundel and a lovely 20 minute walk into the middle of Arundel. Alison is a lovely welcoming host. The 3 en-suite rooms are in a wing of the family home. Alison made us an amazing full English breakfast every morning in the guest only private breakfast room. Our room was on the ground floor with 3 large windows, this was a very spacious double with a dressing table, leather sofa, fridge with tea making facilities & tv. The...

”If you are looking for a peaceful break with a charming host - then look no further. A little off the beaten track but all the better for it - quiet nights and a good night sleep. ”This has been on my bucket list for some time. We had a wounderful 2 night stay and everything was perfect. The accommodation was spacious and comfortable, larger than alot of hotel rooms. You lay in bed at night and could imagine your travelling on a train. The meal was excellent, Beef Wellington to die for, so good and wonderful surroundings in a 1906 Pullman car exquisitely restored. The staff were brilliant and extremely helpful. Alot of history tied up in this place.”

Huone oli pieni, periaatteessa kaikki tarpeellinen oli, mutta: Sänky oli iso ja leveä, tuplauntuvapeitto ja untuvatyynyt, kaksi molemmille, patja oli ns runkopatja, petauspatjaa ei ollut ollenkaan ja joustinpatjan jouset olivat huonossa kunnossa, ne narisi ja naukui ja tuntuivat läpi. Huono nukkumaalusta, siitä huonot pisteet. Kylpyhuone oli iso, pyyhkeet ylellisien tuuheita ja isoja, mutta kylpuhuoneessa haisi tunkkaiselle koko ajan. ”

"Booked a suite. Arrived early, asked if any chance to get a room earlier because of travelling a lack of sleep. Told, the would call us if possible. No call.. sat at reseption… at 2pm asked again, reply was ”no it is 4pm”. Sat there and watched many guests check in at 2.30. We spoke to the manager and she was no help, just adamant, It turns out, you pay for a suite and you are left till last, so book a normal room, pay less and enjoy your room more. Cleaning: Room was not cleaned properly. Hair and crumbes everywhere. Carpet was taped in the main area with duck tape. Breakfast: no fresh pressed orange juice. Carton juice..cheap.. All ingredients poor. We were assigned a table by the window. Next morning different table. No order to service. This is certainly not THE GRAND "
