Dim lights might be romantic but a dressing table with a proper lamp so you can see what you look like is essential! Hot water in bathroom basin very slow in coming through and the toilet seat is misaligned ”

”The B&B Tim and Ken run is one of the best accommodation experiences I've had in Southern England. Stylishly and sensibly renovated rooms with Scandinavian decor, ensuite amenities included, in an intimate environment – meaning that you won't see people coming and going all the time. This is to say that the atmosphere is relaxed. The breakfast is superb with plenty of choices (I'd go for the homemade bagels). Your hosts will also go that extra mile for you. ”Nice sizeable and comfortable room. Unfortunately it was quite hot due to it being on the second floor and after a string of hotter than usual days, not helped by the fact that the heated towel rail (from the hot water system) couldn't be shut off. But a great old pub to stay in all the same. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant.”

”I really liked this hotel, it was our second visit but, they completely messed up our dinner. We pre ordered the roast pork but, unfortunately they ran out! We ended up with ham, egg and chips which was laughable, the ham looked like thinly sliced spam, the egg was overcooked and we had a few oven chips! It was so bad we got up and walked out, which i have never done before and I’m 67! I have emailed the hotel but, no reply! We won’t be going back!”
