”Having stayed a few times over the years we knew what to expect . As usual all the staff were helpful and cheerful. However we stayed in room 6 overnight on a very hot day and night so the room was very uncomfortably hot and made sleeping a problem. We did notice there was an air conditioning unit in the ceiling which was not operating and there was no way to control it. Very disappointing, it would have made a big difference on such a hot night. Nevertheless we look forward to our next stay,...

”Excellent B&B in a great setting with super friendly and professional staff. The room was very well looked after, it was in pristine condition and had all of the amenities we needed. Convenient parking right outside, and the best breakfast I've ever had at a B&B - A selection of cereals, fruit and yogurt, freshly baked pastry, juices, tea and coffee and a delicious cooked option. Amazing value, highly impressed and we will definitely return if we're in the area again!”

”This was our second time in the hotel. We asked for the same room (in advance) and we got it . I wish there was air conditioning in the rooms. I love the little tea room with daily cake! It makes me feel like on a skiing holiday in a chalet”

”Nice place with helpful nice staff, but no good at all if it is hot. Rooms are not air conditioned so like all English buildings trap and keep heat.”

”For the price, it is an excellent hotel stay. Staff polite and very helpful. The only con would be, in the heatwave we are having, having A/C or at least room fans would have been helpful. Otherwise, excellent stay.”

”Wow! The most beautiful nights stay at The Peacock, the scenery, the room, the food, the staff. I didn't want to leave. I LOVED the little touches - the Peacock shortbread, the glass bottles for water/milk, bath salts. I've stopped in a lot of hotels and I have to say this stay beats them all. Perfect! Thanks so much. ”Stayed here for one night. Was given the Honeymoon Suite which was amusing. Room was in roof of the hotel and was unbelievably hot, even with velux windows open. Was given 2 fans which didnt give out any airflow even though they were on full speed. Massive bath but nothing to put in it with the water. Room cooled down by about 2am. I'm sorry but breakfast was awful (scrambled egg that was white and sausages that were rubber). Bed was comfortable enough and staff were cheerful and helpful.”
