”I spent one night at the Throstles Nest Hotel. The room was a bit small, but it contained everything I needed (a bed and a water source). Of course, it would have made the stay more pleasant if the toilet and the shower had not been placed in the corridor, but all in all, this hotel was a good experience. The staff was very friendly and the hotel was in a walking distance from Anfield and Goodison park that were the main attractions for me.”

After being let down with our original booking, we found the Black Lion Hotel.
It's set in a small, quiet village near the river.
We had a superb evening meal, the pub was busy in both the bar and restaurant area all evening, which is always a good sign.... the food was superb, service was excellent
The room we stayed in was quiet, clean, the bathroom was a good size, the bed was comfy.

”The hotel looks impressive. Staff were very attentive. The room was nice, spacious and a nice temperature. There were a few crumbs, fluff and a receipt on the floor so could have been cleaner. The biggest disappointment was the lack of biscuits. Perhaps swap the shoe shine kit or shower cap for some biscuits. It's a shame as the coffee facilities were good but only 2 tea bags and 2 coffee pods.

The hotel has a large carpark. The room was spacious and clean. Hotel staff were extremely polite and helpful. The food was of a high standard and well presented.
