”The room was brill for me as a single room but was updated to a Twin room which was excellent,and all the staff,waitresses,bar and reception could not be more welcoming especially whe you are on your own. Could not fault”

But part way through the night the smell was so terrible we were awake. In the morning we realised it must have been mildew and mold. ”We liked our room, the view it gave us over the countryside was brilliant. We struggled with the coffee maker, and gave up on it- some instructions would have helped. We also struggled with the shower controls and again some instructions would have helped. Staff were helpful. Breakfast was very good but we were a bit disappointed by the selection for dinner.”

”The property was pet friendly and my dog was made welcome. Lovely beer garden at rear which we were able to take advantage of due to the warm and sunny weather during our stay. Only a short walk (about 15 minutes) from the train station and and a lovely big park across the road from the hotel. Not much in Chirk though, with little more than cafes and bistros and bus service looks poor (up to 3hours apart judging by the timetables where provided) compared with other parts of Wales we’ve visited”

”It was a nice place and clean until we pulled the sofa bed out and it was dirty, a quick hover wouldn't have done it any harm. Overall its a nice place to stay, we did try and phone the numbers given to inform of the condition of the sofa bed however not one number was answered, we ended up getting the caretaker, who was 100% helpful”

”Stayed for one night, with my son, for a Mazda MX5 car meet up in the car park- the reason for our stay. The hotel is very nice. We had a meal in the Savvy Fox - i like the decor. The meal was very nice - but not cheap. The twin room was very basic, but was clean and adequate for a one night stay. The beds were very comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. ”Such a quaint old Welsh building in a lovely rural setting just outside of the market town of Ruthin (it is in the middle of a static caravan park but a very pleasant one). A great location for exploring the many places to see around the area . Rooms are of a good size and well equipped. ”Very clean, high quality, lovely home with fresh flowers and friendly, helpful hosts. Beautiful country garden to back and expansive views from lounge and one bedroom. Easy parking on site. Large steps to reach first storey difficult for parents in mid/late 80s but metal rails both sides helped. Highly recommend”
