Located within 20 minutes of both Fredericksburg and Culpeper, Virginia, this 2000 square foot home offers lakefront living on the 24-acre Keaton’s Lake within the gated community of Lake of the Woods. Keaton’s lake is ideal for fishing, swimming, kayaking or just lounging on the hammock or by the firepit enjoying the peaceful setting and beautiful view. Guests can also enjoy the 500 acre Main Lake and its many beaches and parks. There are also two swimming pools.

The home comfortably sleeps 6, with 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. The kitchen is well appointed, all towels and linens are provided, and two kayaks, lifejackets and paddles are available for your use. While you’re here enjoy a wide selection of DVD’s, books, and games. There’s even a well stocked office area with computer monitor and printer.

In addition to Keaton Lake, Lake of the Woods has a Main Lake covering 500 acres that offers fishing, swimming, picnic areas with outdoor grilling, and waterfront dining. This lake has two marinas, seven lake access areas, and eight sand beaches. Other amenities are numerous and include:

• Walking trails
• Basketball court
• Equestrian Center horseback riding
• Parks and playgrounds

There is a noise ordinance in place 10pm-7am; please be mindful of these outdoor quiet hours.

Such a lovely stay! So many things thought of, like flashlights handy by the door for nighttime dog walks. All the cozy blankets for staying warm while lounging on the sofa, the Christmas lights around the windows for a festive feel. Loved the game table, which we brought upstairs for a puzzle.

Great stay for the weekend

Stayed here the weekend for a family reunion in the neighborhood. The views were beautiful. Place was cozy and quiet. Has most items you need (TP, trash bags, shampoo, even bug spray). Had a few issues and Al resolved as best he could with total understanding. He was really a great owner. If you love to cook, bring your own pot/pan.

Clean place with beautiful views

The property was very clean and a perfect place to spend a few days with friends and our dogs. Despite the heat wave, we were able to stay cool between the kitchen views and the tree covered deck. We also enjoyed exploring the lake.

Bliss on the Lake

This was our first time staying in Lake of the Woods and this was a great property to do it from! It was super convenient to the entrance area, well appointed and you can't beat the sprawling lake views. We spent so much time out on the dock fishing and having evening fires. My husband was even able to work thanks to the office set up with monitor and printer. The hosts were kind and responsive.

This place is quiet and scenic, yet close to amenities. The interior was comfortable and well appointed. The bed was beyond comfy and the view of the lake was beautiful. I would definitely stay here again.

Location on the lake was great. You do need a GPS/Map once in the Resort because there are a number of streets to turn onto. Overall place was very clean. Beach theme decor. Kitchen was well stocked with everything you could possibly need and then some. Ample bath towels. Beds were super comfortable with memory foam mattresses. The deck was a treat to have your morning tea/coffee while listening to the birds and ducks. And the patio at night to sit and relax without getting damp because the deck was above. A little extra touch of handmade bows and roses on places you wouldn't expect.

Had a great time

My family had a great time at Lake of The Woods. My kids particularly enjoyed the air hockey table in the basement. The lake was nice for kayaking and it's great having such easy access right from the back yard. House was comfortable and offered plenty of entertainment. We will definitely consider staying here again in the future.

This was a great rental, the owners were excellent. They kept you well informed had everthing stocked up towels ,soaps, toilet paper everthing you need. The home was equipped with games ,air hockey ,kayaks and books. Very quiet lake no gas motors peaceful. Would I stay here again? Definitely!!!

wonderful house and exceptional hosts!

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at this beautiful lakefront house. Al was very responsive to all my questions. He and his wife attended to all the details that would make guests comfortable. Features that stood out included the cleanliness of the house, the view of the lake from so many areas of the house, the wildlife on the lake, and the opportunity to kayak and fish from the property itself.

Beautiful View of the Lake-Waterfront

We loved the fantastic view of the lake from the kitchen & living room in the morning with coffee and throughout the day! Very clean, comfy beds & well equipped kitchen. There's a theatre & game room downstairs (with another full bath) and full view of the lake through sliders. So nice to have the Adirondack chairs on the dock, shame the weather was cold! We would love to come again soon!

Absolutely amazing

We couldn't have had a better time. I went with 3 girlfriends and we were so comfortable and had so much fun. They have thought of EVERYTHING and have supplies for whatever you could need. The kayaks were amazing, we used the fire pit each night, and being on the lake was beautiful. We loved hanging out in the basement with the game space and projector. The beds are very comfy and the space is very clean. The neighborhood is quiet, peaceful, and so cute. Can't recommend this place enough. The hosts were also very responsive and very kind.

It was nice to return to Locust Grove after being gone for 7+ years and thoroughly enjoyed staying at Life on the Lake. Plenty of room for entertaining in multiple spaces. The ping pong/air hockey table was a big hit.

Peaceful spot

We had an amazing time at Al and Marcia's wonderful lakefront home. Everything was as described. The beds were comfy and the kitchen had everything you could possibly need. We spent much of our time on the upper deck looking at the view of the lake and had most of our meals there. There are so many options of things to do in the house: kayaks, games, air hockey, ping pong, movies and so many books! Early mornings down on the dock drinking coffee was perfect and then evenings by the outdoor firepit. This house sits on a smaller lake and we had access to the larger lake nearby, so we even had a beach day at Clubhouse beach. I can't say enough about this house and the communication with the owners. Everything was wonderful!

Lovely Vacation spot

We had a fabulous time at this lovely lake house. The home is well equipped with everything you could possibly need. We all thoroughly enjoyed taking out the kayaks, floating in tubes, swimming in the lake, and just relaxing on the deck with the beautiful view of the lake! Al is a very responsive host and made sure we had everything we needed. We can’t wait to come back next summer!
