”We initially booked 3 rooms which were advertised to have sofa beds, in every other hotel we have stayed at there are extra duvet and pillows inside the wardrobe however this was not the case. When we went to request the extra duvet and pillows the receptionist was rude and told us we should’ve requested these ahead of time. You would think we’re were asking for something obscure and not a duvet and pillow at a hotel with his reaction. Eventually my sister explained we were here for her wedding...

”A characterful converted cow shed with roof beams, but decorated in a modern way with all you need, and a free jug of milk. The bed was comfortable, and there was a wet room shower.I could not see any way to open a window, which I would have liked, and the Wifi only worked in half the room, which I mentioned to the owner. We were welcomed and again had goodbye said to us as we left, which was friendly. We prefer a separate bed room as one of us gets up very early, but it was OK for one night.A...

”I stayed in this hotel room and it was ridiculously hot to the point of being unbearable. The air conditioning either didn’t work or was completely ineffective, and the room felt like a sauna all night. I wasn’t able to sleep at all, which completely ruined my stay. For the price I paid, this is unacceptable. I would not recommend staying here until they fix their temperature control issues.”

”The room was a good size with a decent size kitchenette. It was nice that washing up liquid, cloth and tea towel was provided. Bed was firm but comfortable. The main issue was the heat in the room, it was 29 degrees all night. To be fair we are having a very hot summer but it would be good to have a fan to use. It was quite dark too and we needed the light on during the day, I don’t think the black walls helped! That being said, I would still recommend the apartments as they were ideal for a...

20. The Pig Sty - Farm Stay

Shepshed

”Fabulous little place, in an idyllic location. Whilst the accommodation is basic, it is charming and has everything you need....including kitchen and bathroom facilities. The addition of horses, pigs, and chickens and ducks on site was a bonus, and being greeted by the farm dogs every day was lovely. The hosts were very helpful and accommodating (we had to change our dates at the last moment) and are really friendly. Definitely looking forward to staying again.”
