We especially loved the jacuzzi, the well-equipped kitchenette, and the peaceful view of the creek and sky from the back patio. It was everything we needed to relax and recharge. Highly recommend for anyone looking to unwind in a beautiful, quiet setting!”

”Great place to getaway and relax. It was quiet, of the main road and the property and cabin were well maintained. Water level in the lake was good, and it was fun to watch the night come to life under the stars. We saw plenty of deer and even an armadillo came strolling by the porch on its way down to the lake to get some water. Good spot and would go back. ”

”My friend and I went on a beer, wine and distillery tasting tour from Texas Wine Tours where we were picked up & dropped off at the home in Harper which was only a 25 minute drive from Fredericksburg. We enjoyed the quietness and the Longhorn Cafe was within walking distance from the home. The home was really cozy, we enjoyed all the photos of the family's history and sitting out on the screened porch at night. I would go back because of it's proximity to Fredericksburg and it's not as busy.”

”We absolutely loved the property! It was perfect for baseball families traveling for a tournament and wanting to stay together. The only issue we had was getting ahold of the property manager. We reached out through VRBO and the direct number provided in the house and never heard back. ”

We visited the Empty Cross and had a great time watching the birds and taking in the natural beauty. The location is perfect—close enough to Fredericksburg for a day trip. ”Can not speak enough kind words of this home and property. It was so perfect for our large family for this years annual trip to the hill country. The home was well stocked and beds were extremely comfortable. Outside area, especially the pool, were used for most of the day. Also spent lots of time in the river paddle boarding, kayaking and fishing! An absolute playground for all ages. Thank you so much for sharing your home with our family! We hope to return again next year and for many to come.”

”It was our second time staying at this home. It's a perfect place to relax and enjoy all the beautiful birds and evening visits from deer. We loved doing day trips to Fredericksburg, Luckenbach, Hunt and Ingram and coming back to Carol's Cottage for a dip in the pool. The house is so comfortable and fully stocked. The beds were perfect! We were fortunate to visit with the property owner's granddog, Hero. Will definitely stay again soon!”

”There was so much room for everyone to spread out and have their own space. The dining area was plenty big but could use more chairs. The kitchen was plenty big but could use more kitchenware. The master bath was beautiful and comfortable but a broken window made it so we could hear everything in the kitchen. The shower was really cool, but not all the shower heads were functional. All in all a great stay, but a lot of things could use a little maintenance. Also, a second functional fridge since...
