”The River House at Claremont was one of the best properties we have ever stayed in. I am a huge Gone With the Wind fan and this property brought you back to the South prior to the Civil War all we needed were ball gowns to make it really authentic. The house was well appointed with the necessaries (toilet paper, tissues, and toiltetries). In addition the kitchen pantry had salt, pepper, flour and other staples. The interior of the house is amazing with much of the furniture handmade by the owner...

”We stayed this past week with our two dogs, and it was a wonderful family vacation. We stayed in the Blacksmith Cottage, which was fully-furnished with everything we needed. The kitchen was clean and well-stocked with pots and pans, and the oven and fridge were great to have. The bathroom was clean and comfortable. The grounds were quiet and seemed very safe - we did hear the trains a few times, but with a white-noise speaker and some soft earplugs, it didn't bother us or the dogs at all. If...

”What a unique relaxing stay enjoying birding, kayaking, stargazing, sunsets off the bridge and watching the kids capture crabs galore. We loved the quirky cottage with its amazing large wrap around window views. Donna and Mike are caring hosts, offering plenty of tips on the area when asked. The island is conveniently located close to Yorktown and not far from Jamestown and Colonial Williamsburg. The kids also enjoyed both Yorktown and Jamestown beaches during the stay. ”

From the basket of towels and sandals for the hot tub, to the welcome book full of local food and fun, you can tell they really care if their guests enjoys their stay!
