Firstly, I'd like to say how much I appreciate the staff that work at The Windmill, they are lovely, always with a smile and can't do enough to help.
Secondly the room we stayed in (double room, en-suite) was clean, a little small but that doesn't matter, the decor was probably a little tired (only 1 of the bedside lights worked) but, again that's not an issue.
Now, and unfortunately, thirdly, the bed...oh my goodness, it was bad, the mattress was very thin and old, you could genuinely feel every single spring. I have seen other reviews saying something similar, unfortunately I can confirm the bed we had was disgusting. We ached from head to toe in the morning, after very little sleep.
Quite simply, if the owners had bought a new mattress when others had pointed out just how bad it is then there would be no issue at all and I wouldn't think twice about booking this hotel, unfortunately I can't see myself booking to stay here again.
