”Stepping back ti colonial times splendeaur is what you get in Grand Hotel. Returnef here after mire than three decades and again the service and room standard was as goud as one can expect. Buffed dinner was one if the best we have had on the island. Also had great time in the classic bar and a round of snooker with resident coach was most fun.”

”we had a lovely time in Galway Heights. We really liked the location in a small rural road close to a hindu temple and small village and in the tea plantations. Breakfast was very nice, and the staff very attentive. The only grievance was the lack of elevator. We would definitely recommend this.”

”We had a lovely one night stay at Ferncliff, it was just lovely and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend as a very well run ‘b&b’ type hotel but much more luxurious. Bernard in particular was fantastic, especially his cooking — we had both dinner and breakfast there. Very glad we chose this over the ‘grand hotel’ in the end. ”

”We stayed at the Villa Tea Fields for one night during our visit to Nuwara Eliya. The room was clean/combortable, bathroom was newly renovated/modern. Staff were very attentive and courteous. Breakfast was excellent. The balcony was a great place to relax, read a book, take in the view of the garden - very pleasant experience. We highly recommend the Villa Tea Fields if you're visiting Nuwara Eliya. ”

”Amazing service, great foods, and rooms, all furtuniture are just beautiful. Though it's far from a central city area, you don't have to look for a resturant. They have great selection of menu. ”Our stay at Araliya Green City was amazing. We received a traditional welcome (lighting of Oil lamp, garland) Our room ws sòoooooo spacious. It had 4 washrooms, 3 fire places, 2 massive king size beds, living room, dining room, fully functional kitchen with 5 appliances. Washer and dryer. It had the best view. Special Thanks to Thiyagu at the front office who treated us like family. The General Manager - Dinesh pays attention to every details..”

    A beautiful train journey through the rolling hills of Sri Lanka's enormous tea plantations. I took this train ride from Nuwara Eliya to Ella which took about 3 hours, and less than 300 rupees- third class is worth the mild discomfort for the people you meet. And Ella is definitely worth a trip- stunning views and hikes up to Ella Rock and Little Adams Peak.
