We saw a sign for some church ruins. How could I not go? These ruins are owned by a private owner and can be walked around free of charge.

Known also as the Sheldon Church or Old Sheldon Church, the building was originally known as Prince William's Parish Church. The church was built as a chapel of ease in the English Georgian style, using the Roman Tuscan or Doric order, between 1745 and 1753.

The traditional understanding is that Prince William's was burned by the British in 1779 during the Revolutionary War, rebuilt in 1826, and then burned again in 1865 during the Civil War:

”This B&B is very beautiful. We stayed in the Live Oak room on the second flooor and it was lovely, with a large furnished balcony . Bed very comfortable. Met a few couples from different places and had nice conversations over a sherry wine and happy hour bites ( delicious) every night sitting at the living room with the cozy fireplace. ”Our experience was amazing. We enjoyed wonderful breakfasts with eggs, bacon or sausage, fresh fruit, and a biscuit, Belgian waffle or pancake every morning. We had cookies waiting for us in the afternoon and wine and appetizers in the evening. We never made it to the port wine and snack before bedtime. The inn is magical with it recently updated decor. The staff bed over backwards to accommodate, and the location is close to historical sites. We can’t wait to return. ”

”My wife and I were in Savannah for our 29th anniversary. I got lucky and chose Bellwether based on its location, previous reviews, and pictures. Check in was a breeze and the staff was very helpful. ”This is our 2nd stay at the Foley House Inn and it didn't disappoint! Chuck, the manager, greeted us tenderly and was kind and gracious the entire time. He told us some funny jokes (like he did previously) and even took the time to personally bake us some delicious white chocolate macadamia nut cookies (which were not served on a Sunday) for us to enjoy while we rested before dinner. Our room was so quaint and welcoming! The bed was comfy and all the amenities were waiting for us upon arrival....
