”We checked in with our reservation to the last room available. We dropped our stuff in the room that had an interesting odor only to head back out. Once we walked out of the room I realized the door doesn’t lock. Not only from the outside but the inside as well. We let the front desk know that we can’t stay in a room that does not lock we were told that it is their last room available and there will not be a maintenance person around for a few days because it’s Fourth of July weekend. ”We needed an affordable, no-frills place to stay during our short visit to the Murphy / Lake Hiwassee area. This motel fit the bill and we were very satisfied. It was clean, the staff was helpful and friendly and we enjoyed the cute retro decor, especially the yard flamingos planted outside each room! Receiving a nice fruit/goodies basket during our stay was a nice surprise and much appreciated.”
