”Delightful and funky. Spa robes were ready at the foot of the bed, the fire warmed the room, there was no sink in the bathroom, and the kitchen outlet was directly over the quality Italian range. Desolation Hotel is isolated at the end of Hope Valley, which was an essential part of the Emmigrant Trail. The "hotel" is a collection of comfortable cabins hidden in the trees above the restaurant/lobby & outdoor bar & dining area. It is an ideal location for those who like hiking or trout fishing.”

”Our experience was disappointing from the moment we arrived. The reception staff who checked us in were unfriendly and came across as rude. The room did not include a microwave, and after multiple requests and discussions, one was eventually provided; however, it appeared to be a very low-quality unit.
The room also had a strong, unpleasant odor, which forced us to keep the door open for ventilation. In addition, the room remained uncomfortably warm even with the air conditioning thermostat set...
