Matkat – Marsa Ben M'Hidi

We stayed - 2 adults and 2 teenagers - family room was great - comfy beds and plenty of space. Good closet space. Breakfast was decent and coffee was good. Terrace bar was a nice addition. Staff were so very helpful. Location magnificent - close to everything. Couldn't recommend more.

First, this is no a traditional hotel. It’s two floors of a dirty old apartment building. You enter via door code next to several trash cans and walk up two flights of stairs to an elevator to the third floor reception, which is only open 8am-3pm. Staff was helpful providing after hours access via WhatsApp chat. The room was fortunately cleaner and brighter than the stairway and corridor, which stank of cigarette smoke, with modern finishes. However, the air conditioning did not work and since there’s no on-site staff, it was not addressed until the following day. Additionally, the best was among the oldest, least comfortable my wife or I have ever tried to sleep on. Lots of corridor noise throughout the night. We ended up departing after only one night into our three night stay so we could better sleep.

Huone oli siisti ja sijainti erinomainen. Aamupala oli runsas. Aamupala on melko ruuhkainen johtuen enemmänkin siitä että hotelli on iso ja huoneita on paljon.

It’s definitely a motel level of hospitality, which hurts when you’re paying a premium but the location is right in Times Square so it’s perfect for doing tourist things. Furniture is cheap and rickety (think Walmart college apartment) mattress is unsubstantial and you can feel the slats from the frame through it. AC was definitely loud but otherwise it was surprisingly very quiet considering where we were. Checkin was painfully slow (35 min) but overall it’s a sensible choice compared to nearby hotels. If you’re easy going and not fussy about receiving no luxury when paying several hundred for a single night you’ll be fine here.
