We had a nice week staying in the apartment overlooking the bay of Marsaskala. The apartment was clean, tidy, and well equipped with all you would need for your stay. We had many mornings and evenings sat on the balcony enjoying watching the harbour town wake up or wind down. The hosts were great and when we had a couple of minor issues sorted them promptly, and followed up to check everything was okay. We usually found on street parking fairly close to the apartment, but you could easily use local buses to get around. We frequented the local bars and restaurants for most evening meals and some breakfasts and lunch, there are plenty of options, and we were quietly surprised with how lively the harbour was in the evenings, with people taking full advantage of the new promenade. There are also local convenience stores, fruit & veg, bakery etc all within 20 mins walk. The apartment is an ideal base for adults looking to explore the South of the island, and even though there is no beach, you can get in the sea easily via the numerous steps, or visit St Thomas Bay or Pretty Bay which are both fairly close by. We did hit traffic at times getting past Valletta/ St Julien's when we went north, but you can get to Mellieha bay or the Gozo ferry in under an hour. Locally, we must recommend allowing a couple of hours to visit St Thomas Tower, opened last year it is a nice small museum with 3 short videos and some interactive items for children, and a lift to the roof.
