”I did not get to stay at the OVO, I booked the wrong date (my error), but having paid Expedia for insurance that would alow me to make changes to the booking, the venue wanted to charge a handling fee that was 100% of the room cost. seeing that it would have cost me the full room cost on top of whatever the actual day would cost me I decided not to cancel and to book elsewhere.”

”Lovely guesthouse Great comfy bed. Lovely home cooked breakfast with good produce. We were attending a wedding at the nearby Wennington Hall and Kevin kindly dropped us off and picked us up at the end of the evening. He did not request any payment fir this but we did tip him, ”

”Friendly and professional staff. Wonderful evening meal (the Halloumi Flatbread was delicious). Good parking, spacious bedroom well appointed. The chilled complimentary fruit juice & water was much appreciated after a 400 mile journey! My only issue was that room 4 was right over the outside seating area and I can only imagine that during World Cup season this could prove to be a problem. As it was I did have the creaking stairs (access for all guests) and loud music blasting from the bar below...

”Breakfast was very good. Room a bit small and no drawers to put any thing. Staffs are good. The only problem is they didn't make up my room even though I put up the sign.”

”Solo traveller - peaceful night in a very comfortable bed and spacious room. Cleanliness up to speck with crisp white bedding and fluffy towels. Wonderful breakfast with tasty locally sourced bacon. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve chosen the Derby Arms for a stay over now, for a fussy traveller it fits the bill beautifully! Central location for Longridge/Ribble Valley.”

”Good experience all round. The breakfast selection is better than my previous stays. The only slight negative is that on the last day, I wanted to get my bill while the reception was quiet at breakfast time before the check out rush but the receptionist advised me that due to a new system, if I got the bill, the room would no longer be accessible.”

”I liked the fact the hotel was right on the main street making it easy access to amenities. We wanted to have a meal in the restaurant but it was never opened which was disappointing”

”The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Evening meal and breakfast were very good. The bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom could do with some updating. Several significant cracks in the walls and evidence of water leaks around the heated towel rail and over bath shower head was leaking water out when running the bath taps. We only had one night so not really an issue for us.”

”Beautiful hotel, second time staying for one night, breakfast included, evening meal have to book separately which was easy to do. Everything about this hotel, location, availability of rooms, staff and food was truly amazing. We will be booking again, probably near Christmas time.”

”Great staff friendly and helpful, nice relaxing atmosphere, very nice breakfast, only two very small suggestions would be nice to have longlife milk sachets or similar in the room save having to go down stairs and ask for milk,and could do with a shelf in the shower no where to put shampoo ect when showering”

”I booked a standard ensuite double room but upgraded to the Tudor Suite. I chose this hotel because it is hundreds of years old, which is something we don’t get to experience much in the USA! The hotel obviously has all the charm of such an old place and would be awesome for a romantic getaway (although I was traveling alone on this trip!). There is lots of parking, which is free. ”Room clean . Comfortable bed complimentary water . Biscuits and good selection of teas and coffee even hot chocolate. Staff amazing couldn’t be more helpful. Breakfast amazing good parking plenty of spaces. The only downside for not very tall people the bath was quite high to get in to have a shower. Overall a lovely place to stay”

”Very friendly staff, the room was very clean and bed was comfortable. The pool was full of kids so we didn't went for a swim. Breakfast was good and had many options. The car park was quite full and the spots were a bit tight (even worse because a lot of people didn't know how to park 🙃) But overall was a nice experience! Highly recommend it!”

”Beautiful location with spectacular views. The room was very spacious and nicely decorated and the bathroom was stunning. Breakfast is very good and they offer both buffet and full cooked options. The things that let it down were more to do with the poor staff attitude that we encountered at Sunday lunch and when I tried to check into our room. They didn’t seem interested in helping us and didn’t get our stay off to a great start.”
