”We stayed at The Fleece for a couple of nights. Our welcome as a pleasant professional one, despite the bar and restaurant being busy. Our room and the linen was very clean, and although quite warm, there was a fan provided that did the trick. We ate in the restaurant one evening and the food was good, and the breakfast, which was included, was delicious. Lovely beer garden/ courtyard to enjoy a relaxing beer. ”Attractively restored pub with very comfortable rooms and good food. The staff couldn't be more helpful - we particularly appreciated the fan left on to cool the room ready for our arrival. Lovely walk from the front door to the old docks on the bay a short distance away.”

”The staff were fab between booking and arriving i had broken my ankle so was on crutches ,they very kindly changed our room so i could get around better.Breakfast was great plenty of it and cooked lovely.Cleaning lady very nice left us extra t-bags etc while making sure everything ok.So thankyou for making our weekend as comfy as possible.”

”What a delightful cosy rooms with showerrooms. Comfortable beds, with well insulation blinds/ curtain for the strong summer sun. Room was copl at night, and good bathroom facilities. We were going to be late, and staff rang to check on our progress. Staff waited until we arrived and showed us our rooms. Breakfast was included but the choice and want we were entitled too was a not clear. Cooked breakfast meals very delicious and tasty.”

”Great location for Lake District and Lancashire an on to North Yorkshire/Yorkshire Dales without the premium price. Breakfast was plentiful and staff accommodating of a large party. We were able to change our room due to an error on our part, without problem or charge. Parking was always available and accessible.”

”I booked a standard ensuite double room but upgraded to the Tudor Suite. I chose this hotel because it is hundreds of years old, which is something we don’t get to experience much in the USA! ”We have stayed here several times over the years as our daughter attended Lancaster University. This has always been our “Go To” place and has never disappointed. It is clean and tidy and has everything you need for a short visit. Our daughter has now graduated, but I am sure we will be back in the future and look forward to coming back to The Royal.”
