”The property is excellent, although I think the bed is too high. The shower is fabulous, the climate control system is great. Breakfast was excellent. My wife and I did not like the town, or the surrounding towns, but we did find really nice restaurants for dinners.”

”We were greeted by host as soon as well drove in. The place was clean, smelled clean. I wish we had more time to explore the grounds. Very close to Foxwoods. The bed was great, comfy. Definitely will be back.”

”Everything is "unique" about Captain Grant's!...The perfect hosts Carol and Ted; the ambience; the beautiful furnishings; the cozy room with all the amenities; the absolutely fabulous breakfast w/ mimosas, pancakes with real maple syrup and blueberry topping on a exquisitely, complete totally antique, setting table arrangement; all the available extras...beer, wine, coffee. tea, brandy in the room, etc. A most wonderful experience”

”It was a great stay. It was our first time staying at a Bed and Breakfast and will certainly not be our last now with such a great experience we had at the House of 1833. Evan was an exceptional host/chef. He gave us a tour of the home and the history. The breakfast in the morning was incredible from the homemade apple cranberry muffin to the Greek Italian Mac & Cheese Spinach Souffle. We would highly recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a quiet, yet close to town place to stay. ”
