Kitchen & Dining - Beautifully equipped kitchen with fridge, freezer, oven, hob, microwave, kettle and coffee machine. Dining table in the kitchen for 4 guests.

Laundry - Washer & Clothes Dryer

Bathroom - Shower with quality towels and essential amenities provided

Bedroom One - Kingsize bed and quality linen, ample hanging space, dressing area with mirror. Hairdryer provided.

Bedroom Two - Twin beds with quality linen and ample hanging space.

Entertainment - Smart TV with freeview. You are also able to log into your own Netflix/Amazon Prime/NOWTV/Apple TV and Disney+ accounts

Parking - There is free on street parking by the property, if there's not any spaces by the cottage, you can park in the square a very short walk away.

The village itself is quiet and full of character, with traditional stone cottages and breathtaking countryside views in every direction. Just a short drive (or a rewarding walk!) away, you’ll find the historic market town of Matlock and the picturesque village of Winster — both offering cosy pubs, local shops, and friendly faces.

For walkers, cyclists, and nature lovers, Wensley is a dream. You're close to some of the best trails in the Peaks, including the Limestone Way and walks through the stunning Lathkill Dale. Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall — two of the area's most iconic stately homes — are also within easy reach for a day of exploring.

Whether you're after outdoor adventure or simply some peace and quiet in a beautiful setting, Wensley is a perfect base for your Peak District getaway.

Getting Around:
Wensley is a peaceful village tucked away in the heart of the Peak District, making it a perfect base for exploring the area's stunning countryside, walking trails, and nearby attractions.

🚗 By Car:
Having a car is the most convenient way to get around. The cottage comes with free parking, and you'll find that most key sights — including Chatsworth House, Bakewell, and Matlock — are all within a 10–20 minute drive.

🚌 Public Transport:
The nearest town with regular bus and train connections is Matlock (about 10 minutes away by car). From there, you can catch buses to Bakewell, Buxton, and other villages in the Peaks. Local buses also run through nearby villages, but services can be limited, especially in the evenings and on Sundays — be sure to check timetables in advance.

🚶‍♀️ On Foot:
Wensley is surrounded by beautiful walking routes. You can easily access footpaths leading to Stanton Moor, Winster, and the Limestone Way. The village itself is quiet and very walkable, with scenic views in every direction.

🚴 By Bike:
Cycling enthusiasts will enjoy the nearby trails, including the Monsal Trail and High Peak Trail. Bike hire is available in nearby towns like Hassop and Bakewell.

If you're planning to explore the wider Peak District or prefer a bit more flexibility, we recommend bringing or hiring a car.
