”The house overall was good. The upkeep could have been a lot better. There are a few boards on the floor that are coming up. There is a brick that is loose in the family room. In the hallway bathroom, the rack on the wall is broken(a screw is missing) It did feel like the house(inside and outside) was not professionally cleaned in awhile. We came across a few spider webs and spiders in a few corners of the house. We couldn't really enjoy the outside scenery because there were spider webs...

”Very secluded, great place”

”We loved our stay, the host checked on us and we have very good communication. We'll definitely be back!!”

”The cottage was very nice. We appreciated that is was dog-friendly”

”Its the giant house on the side of the road, parking is by the tree on the hill. Arriving at night was hard to tell, with many small houses around the big house, and drive ways small. Dont let this fool you, this is to help you find it, as the place is amazing to stay. There are many rooms to stay in this house. This one is on 2nd floor, around tight nit stairs on top left. Room photos do not do it justice, its a bedroom / hallwall with bathroom, and den (spare room) very cozy, den is nice and...

”The cottage was beautiful! Clean and peaceful. The hosts were very responsive and the location was fantastic. My wife and I enjoyed time by the campfire. Was a lovely time away! ”

”This place is perfect. Ferne is an excellent host with a beautiful cottage that is clean and comfortable.”

”General cleanliness. Ceiling tiles need to be replaced. Multiple spiders/bugs throughout. There was also a mug growing mold that was left by the kitchen sink. We ended up not staying over night. We just used the space to get a ready for the wedding we were attending in the area. ”

”House very clean. Great hospitality.”

”We had a wonderful visit. Beautifully landscaped and, clean property. Peaceful- hope to visit again.”

”Wonderful and lovely vacation home! I wish we could of stay longer. Very very clean and comfortable. The only somewhat critic is that its beside a very busy road and we can hear the cars driving. It is still very private and peaceful with the trees. Loved the camp fire and listening to the cicidas at night! I highly recommend and would stay there again if visiting Virginia.”

”Great location for a girls' weekend. Thank you”

”This was a beautiful stay at a great location. The cabin is cozy and would be perfect for a weekend getaway or a week vacation. Plenty to do nearby with various parks and caves. Far enough in the country side to be peaceful and close enough to still grab a nice dinner in town. It was very relaxing to listen to the sounds of the river in the evening. We really enjoyed our stay here”

”Pet friendly. Great scenery. Hot tub. Fire pit. Very relaxing and comfortable.”
