  • Tämä hyvin yksityinen 1940-luvun mökki on juuri remontoitu kokonaan. Kahdessa päämakuuhuoneessa on queen-size-vuoteet ja siellä on lastenhuone, jossa kerrossänky.
    Talossa on myös hienoja ulkoalueita, joissa itään päin oleva kansi, josta on näkymä Ylä-Yarran laaksoon, ja kivi terassi, jossa on funky palo kuoppaan.
    Warburton on viileä vuoristokaupunki, jossa on paljon vaihtoehtoja retkeilijöille ja pyöräilijöille. Talo on 500 metrin päässä metsän läpi kulkevasta vesijohtoreitistä. Warburton - Lilydale -junarata on suosittu perheiden keskuudessa. Seikkailunhaluisemmat ratsastajat voivat osallistua Mt Donna Buangiin, Reefton Spuriin ja Acheron Wayiin.
    Warburtonilla on runsaasti upeita kahviloita, ainutlaatuisia kauppoja ja suosittu uima-aukko kaupungin keskustassa, ja siellä on viinitilat makulaaksoon.
    Talo sijaitsee Mt Donna Buangin alemmilla rinteillä, joissa on lunta ja kelkkarata talvella. Se sijaitsee myös 45 minuutin päässä hiihtokeskuksesta Lake Mountainilla.
    Huomaa, että talosta on noin 20 askelta alas tai ylöspäin kahdesta sisäänkäynnistä. Se ei sovellu liikuntarajoitteisille ihmisille.

We had a wonderful stay in this beautifully maintained, spotlessly clean and enormously charming cottage. It’s spacious and well suited to a large family or group of friends, with sleeping space for six. The beautiful garden, lovely views and many places to sit both inside and out make it easy to relax. The kitchen is also very well equipped. The only thing that could be slightly improved is the listing information. A clearer description of the bedroom arrangements (two queen beds and two bunk beds) would be useful, as would more practical details about parking and access (including approximate walking distances in metres: from Young Road, it’s steep with a longer walk down; from Donna Buang Road, it’s steep with a shorter walk up). The host was very helpful and responsive, though, so we were able to find out everything we needed. It’s a perfect place for a relaxing stay in the Warburton area, and I’d strongly consider staying there again.

Very nice and very charismatic little cottage just past the city centre. Clean and comfortable. The hosts were fantastic! When we arrived, we were greeted by a warm fireplace already lit (it was winter).

Lovely place to stay

It was a lovely comfortable property with all that we needed. Loved sitting out on the deck, looking at the trees, and listening to water flowing. Very private and quiet.

The advice regarding the difficult access to the house via the steps cannot be underestimated...the house is at the bottom of a steep block from the road, and the 18 steps leading down from the place where you can park to the house itself are steep and of differing depths. We found a pair of discarded undies in the second bedroom and the main bathroom floor was covered in water. Access to the house was confusing: there were numerous keys provided, the colour coding didn't match the locks, and the advice on which was the front door key was incorrect. The house itself is cosy, with plenty of wood provided for the fireplace, and small electric heaters in each bedroom. No electric blankets. The kitchen is in good order with enough pots and pans for most needs. Salt, pepper, sugar and olive oil provided. Tea and coffee provided, but no milk. The house is in a good location for the town as well as the many walks and places of interest in the area.

Secluded getaway

Great short stay getaway that feels secluded. Facilities as advertised with good wifi, and plenty of room for 2. Property access a challenge and would not recommend for young families or for anyone that cannot manage 20 plus steep steps.

Great house in good location. Would recommend and will be happy to stay again. Be mindful that there are stairs both front and back when carrying luggage and if it’s pouring with rain you will get wet. On the positive side, there was heaps of dry firewood to get toasty once you’re inside.

Warburton Experience

The cottage was very clean and well appointed, however car parking and access to the cottage was a problem as the site is very steep and the vehicles were parked quite a distance from the cottage which made un-packing & packing quite a struggle in the rain. I would not recommend this property for elderly people and the booking site does not give any indication of this situation.

Nice stay in beautiful surroundings

Check-in was easy and early check-in was provided when asked. Access to the house was difficult from front and back, there's a number of stairs to contend with. The listing indicates that the house has great outdoor areas. The deck and view is nice, but the property is on a significant hill and there's no yard to speak of. Kitchen and bathrooms have everything you need and the bedrooms are adequate. Overall, a pleasant stay, 3.5 stars.

This was definitely a nice place to stay. Few issues but it wouldn’t put me of going back, I think it would be a great spot in winter with the inside fire etc. First up the address is Younga Rd not Younga St, hard to find the house when we first arrived. After finding the lock box and sorting keys etc, we got greeted by 100s of ants inside the main door way. Cobwebs everywhere inside like the place hadn't been cleaned before we arrived or maybe long time from the last renters. Dead huntsman in the hallway again with 100s of ants around that. The “20 steps” is very misleading and the slope to the property is ridiculously steep and very hard to get things to and from the car. Mum struggled going in and out to the car for any of our trips (100% do not bring any older people to this property or people with any sort of walking disability).Had to go to the shop & provide our own batteries to work the Aircon system. Again noting that bad that would put me personally off going back to the property. Look forward to another trip in winter. Cheers!

It really is someone's 1940s holiday Cottage

3 bedrooms, pleasant, best water pressure I've ever had, outside cobwebs a bit unsightly but part of natural vibe. Neighbour's veranda 50 odd meters away but the effect behind the plants is essentially isolation. I could drink the water straight from the tap and it was quite nice. Snacked on some mint from the garden as well. The steps and ramp aren't onerous unless you have a mobility issue. Parking out the front is in a shared driveway, but on the property at the rear. I could hear the small stream, under the fern trees on the other side of the driveway, from inside the main bedroom (which was nice).

Inaccessibility of property

My husband and I booked a little weekend getaway with our 2 year old daughter.I feel that the description ‘20 steps up or down to the property’ is a little misleading. There isn’t anywhere really to park your car and it is pretty treacherous. At the bottom of the property there is no car park unless you are blocking another drive wayAt the top there is a very steep driveway that you can’t access unless you have a 4WD.There was also a huge wasp nest blocking the stairs from the top so we couldn’t access the property that way without getting stung which both myself and my husband did. We contacted the owner after we got stung to let him know so he could inform the next booking however he was less then concerned and said that he knew about the wasp nest but was waiting until it was cooler to get rid of them which I don’t feel was an appropriate response.The inaccessibility of the property made it stressful to get in and out which was not ideal to go sight seeing, go out for dinner etc.The property itself was lovely however one of the showers was not sealed which meant we couldn’t really use that shower without getting the bathroom soaked.There are lots of nice places in Warbie without these issues. I would give this one a miss.

Quick snow trip

Great little property. Steep entrance but our kids were fine with it. 4wd ideal to park closer 👍 Close to the snow and perfect for a few nights away.

Wonderful and restful time

Exhausted mums seeking some time away from the families. The house is a restful place, with a good fireplace and cottage feel. The beds are comfortable and so as the hot water. We enjoyed the time there. Iain was easy to talk to and he gave us a late check-out which was very appreciated. May not be suitable with elderly or young children as the access involves steps and backyard not enclosed for running. Minor issues with parking being a bit tricky and the security door sticky to open. If equipped with a dishwasher, it would have been perfect.
